According to sources, the Prince and Princess of Wales seemingly harbor “lingering resentments” towards the 41-year-old. They have reportedly still not moved on from the harsh statements the Duke of Sussex made in his book, “Spare.” Hence, the reunion of the trio seemed unlikely during Harry’s recent U.K. trip.
Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘need more time’ to reunite with Prince Harry, source claims
Prince William and Kate Middleton were reportedly hurt after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their feud public post their royal exit. According to Us Weekly, a source stated that there’s still “ongoing tension” between the duke and his brother and sister-in-law.
“They are deeply hurt by the public disclosures, memoir revelations and interviews and criticisms of their roles,” the insider said. Reportedly, the future king and queen took those actions as “breaches of trust.” Therefore, they would need a “significant time to heal” and welcome Harry back into their lives.
The news came after the Duke of Sussex met his father, King Charles, during his recent U.K. trip. They seemingly had a “relaxed” meeting after two years. As per the source, the father-son duo’s aides had direct communication, but this has not been the case with William. They added, “William and Kate haven’t initiated or responded to outreach from Harry at all. They do need more time.”
An earlier report stated that the royal couple was only eight miles away when Prince Harry visited the King George VI Memorial Chapel. Allegedly, the heir to the throne didn’t put any effort into meeting his younger brother. Meanwhile, the king reportedly flew from Balmoral, Scotland, to meet his second son.
Another source told the outlet that there has been an “emotional distance” between Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. It apparently was the result of the Duke of Sussex’s comments about the Princess of Wales in his book, “Spare.” “It left William guarded and needing more time to process before a face-to-face with Harry,” the insider concluded.
