Jessica Simpson showed there’s no love lost between her and Tony Romo. The singer told her fans about a recent interaction with her ex, and why it made her relieved they broke up.

Jessica took the opportunity while onstage at the 2025 Women Who Rock Benefit Concert in Pittsburgh to recount a recent interaction with ex Tony. In a video recorded by a fan at the event, the singer revealed that the NFL star had reached out to her via her mom for a favor.
She said: “He’s calling my mom, saying, ‘Well, Tina, I’m selling the boat.’ And my mom’s like, ‘OK, and?’”
“He’s like ‘Well, Jessica’s name is still on the title.’”
The singer explained that she signed the paperwork to enable her ex to sell the boat. But she was less than impressed with his gesture of appreciation.
“And guess what he gave me as a thank you? Plastic cups!” she said, adding: “I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m glad we didn’t work out!’”
The pair dated from 2007 to 2009. Jessica bought the boat for Tony as a birthday present, so her name was still on the papers. It’s been reported that the speedboat cost around $100,000. If you think that’s an expensive gift, it’s a drop in the ocean thanks to Jessica’s seriously impressive net worth.
The singer is currently in the process of divorcing Eric Johnson. The pair wed in July 2014 and have three kids together. She was previously married to Nick Lachey.
