The Summer House cast had a major shakeup earlier this year. Paige DeSorbo announced that she would be leaving the show after seven seasons.
Stepping away the reality TV series hasn’t slowed her down at all. In fact, she’s been pursuing an already iconic acting career. From a fun cameo in Ginny & Georgia to seemingly a role in Devil Wears Prada 2, fans are on the edge of their seats. It seems like walking away from the chaotic summers has opened her up to dive into even more opportunities. And that’s exactly why she left.
Paige DeSorbo isn’t a fan of the reality TV machine after leaving Summer House
Paige recently weighed in on her decision to step away from Summer House. According to her, one of the main drawbacks was the time commitment.
“I know I would’ve been doing a disservice to [the show]. They accept a certain level of showing up, and I couldn’t give them that,” she told Byrdie.
The former Bravo star also called the series for its performative environment.
“Being on reality TV, there’s a level — this is a harsh word — of, like, brainwashing. That’s not real life. You’re not stopping people on the street and being like, ‘I just had a thought that I hate my boyfriend.’”
Nevertheless, Paige is not opposed to making a comeback. She has referred to her Summer House departure as “a break” instead of a total exit. Only time will tell.
Summer House is available to stream on Peacock in the US and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
