Jelly Roll is going to need a new wardrobe to fit into his new size.
The rapper has been on a massive weight loss journey over the past few years, one which has been hugely successful. At one point he weighed over 500 pounds, but a focus on his health is paying off.
The singer’s appearance has changed significantly over the past few years, leading many fans to wonder how he did it, with Ozempic believed to have been a factor.
Jelly Roll addresses Ozempic questions amid weight loss journey

His current name originated from a nickname his mother gave him as a child, but he may soon want to change it to reflect his current appearance.
In 2024, Jelly told People that he had dropped 110 pounds, while estimating 60-70 pounds were lost during his Beautifully Broken tour. On previous concert tours, the man born Jason DeFord said that: “It revolved around alcohol and drugs.” That has changed nowadays, however. “Now our tour culture is around good eating and around exercising and doing emotional check-ins with our crew every day,” he adds.
Jelly has talked openly about his addiction issues in the past to spread awareness on the problem.
Losing that much weight so quickly has created plenty of speculation on how he did it. Ozempic is thought to be one way he’s done it, a medication designed to treat obesity among other things.
While stating he’s not against treatments like this, he insists he lost weight naturally, adding fear of side effects being a factor for him not trying Ozempic. “I just was afraid of it … As a singer, few things scare me more than acid reflux. Like, you’ll watch me get up out of a bed, I’ll burp and wake up panicked and go take something for it.” Acid reflux, diarrhea and nausea are among the many potential side effects from the drug.
He says he walks two to three miles a day while training for the 2 Bears 5k marathon in May.
His next goal is to make the cover of Men’s Health by 2026.
