Sydney Sweeney offered Bollywood movie, claims report
A report published in The Sun says that producers are considering Sydney Sweeney for a Bollywood role in one of the most expensive Indian films currently in production.
Reportedly, the production house has outlined a deal where she would be paid £35 million (approximately $48 million) for her performance, with an additional £10 million (approximately $13 million) in sponsorship agreements. The report says Sydney Sweeney would play an American star in her Bollywood debut who falls in love with an Indian celebrity.
The film will be shot in major cities around the world, such as London, Paris, New York, and Dubai, in 2026. A source close to the actress said the offer “shocked” her due to the staggering amount. However, she finds the project intriguing and believes it could boost her stardom and growth in the global entertainment market.
An unnamed source further said that Sweeney recognises the massive impact of the Indian film industry. The film is touted to have a wide international reach and appeal.
The source cautiously added that money isn’t everything, and the White Lotus alum has multiple projects lined up. “Nothing has been decided yet, but it’s a huge opportunity, and Sydney is weighing her options carefully.”
Sweeney will soon be appearing on movie screens in the upcoming sports biopic Christy, based on the life of boxer Christy Martin. The film, out on November 7, was screened recently at the Toronto International Film Festival and received a standing ovation from the audience.
Sydney Sweeney will also star in The Housemaid alongside Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar. The film is set to release on December 19. The actress hasn’t officially commented on taking up the proposed Bollywood role yet.
