Shaq recently attended the 21st birthday party of OnlyFans star Sophie Rain. While the adult model framed the rendezvous as a chance meeting, many people theorized that there could be more to it.
As ever, the internet did its thing and it wasn’t long before rumors were circulating that the pair were actually a couple. This gossip didn’t go unnoticed by the four-time NBA champion.
He commented on a social media video that explained the dating theory. On the clip by content creator Noah Glenn Carter, Shaq wrote: “I don’t daw [sic] that young but I will date your mom and give u a brother.” Oh, Shaq.
The Lakers’ powerhouse further clarified the issue in a now-deleted follow-up comment. According to TMZ, he said he was just DJing at the club Sophie was celebrating her birthday in. He added a less than friendly warning: “stop tryna create rumors don’t make me slap you dude.”
Shaq also reportedly told the social media creator to get a job, adding: “your mom is hot tell her to hit me on my sky tell pager.”
Sophie also took to X to voice her confusion at the rumors. She wrote: “I don’t know how taking a single photo with Shaq had the internet drawing conclusions that we must be dating.”
The Hall of Famer was married to Shaunie Henderson from 2002 to 2011. It seems the split left him with a pretty pessimistic view of relationships and marriage. He said: “I’m gonna end up alone. I already know it … because y’all be making rules up as you go along. There’s no handbook on how to be the perfect man or perfect husband,” per People.
