Cardi B has shared the truth behind the end of her marriage to Offset and the “dark depression” she battled a year ago. During her appearance on the “Jay Shetty Podcast,” the singer shared that her emotional wounds and low tides were the consequence of her career pressures and her failing relationship with her now-estranged husband. She remembered feeling the “love dying” from both their ends.
The “WAP” hitmaker laid bare that she was “very lonely” at that point, only because she decided to be so. She then reflected on navigating the challenging times amid trouble with the father of her children. Cardi said she wanted to “put a stop to it,” but explained how it doesn’t happen until the “heart says so,” and despite urging herself repeatedly not to contact Offset, she was “crying and hurt” every day.
Finally, Cardi B, who was pregnant at the time, talked about coming to “accept” the “flaws” she brought to her marriage with Offset. She revealed taking accountability for her actions, wanting to apologize and work on it, but implied that she was taken “advantage” of, which “killed everything.”
The Grammy winner even remembered contemplating what life and raising her last child would be like without the rapper. She elaborated that these thoughts got her “sad,” “depressed,” and “lost,” but she overcame the challenges to become the “strongest” version of herself.
Reportedly, the separated couple shares three kids – daughter Kulture Kiari, 7, son Wave Set, 4, and daughter Blossom Belle, 1. Cardi is currently pregnant with her fourth child, her first with her NFL Star boyfriend, Stefon Diggs.
