The former longtime editor-in-chief at Vogue is reflecting on the nearly 20-year anniversary of the hit movie The Devil Wears Prada. The story, written by Laura Weisberger, one of her former assistants. Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly has a take-no-prisoners approach in the fashion sector with many believing it reflects Anna’s years in Vogue.
Many saw Streep’s character as somewhat harsh, Anna had no issue with the film. At the end of the day she adds that “I thought it was a fair shot.” According to Lauren, the story stems from her and her friends’ experiences. She wrote The Devil Wears Prada after leaving Vogue along with Richard Story, who suggested she take a writing workshop. She’s gone on to write numerous more books and short stories.
Anna Wintour found The Devil Wears Prada an enjoyable watch

Watching a movie about the stresses of the fashion industry was a lot of fun for Anna, according to RadarOnline.com.
That said, she initially thought the portrayal of the inner workings of a magazine company would be over the top. “And then I went to see the film, and I found it highly enjoyable and very funny,” she said. She admits talking about the film with are designer Miuccia Prada. Miuccia is the billionaire fashion designer and granddaughter of Mario Prada who owned a luxury goods manufacturing company.
Last month, Anna had the opportunity to meet Meryl while she was in character during the filming of The Devil Wears Prada 2. Anna says that she has discussed the original movie with many fashion people who share the same love for it that she has.
In June, Anna announced she was leaving Vogue after 37 years. She will continue in her role as global chief content officer at Condé Nast. The Devil Wears Prada 2 premieres in US theatres on May 1.
