Harry has since returned to the United States to resume his life with Meghan Markle and their children, while King Charles continues to fulfill his royal duties. Royal experts believe their shared commitment to addressing the dangers of social media could help rebuild their bond, but only if the King can first manage the escalating controversy surrounding Prince Andrew.

Both King Charles and Prince Harry, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales, have recently spoken out about the negative influence of social media. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told The Mirror that while the trio — Charles, William, and Harry have all used their platforms to highlight the dangers of social media, their shared interest may not necessarily bridge the emotional gap between them.

“All three, Charles, William, and Harry, are becoming more vocal about the dangers of social media,” Bond explained. “They’re voicing the concerns of so many of us. It is a valid and impactful use of their platforms. But I don’t think it has any bearing on a full reconciliation between the King and Harry.”

Bond suggested that the King currently faces pressing challenges that could delay any progress in mending his relationship with Harry. “Hopefully that is still quietly bubbling on behind the scenes,” Bond added, referring to the potential for reconciliation. “That’s exactly where it must remain if there is to be any hope of seeing them together again. I do think the King has enough on his plate at the moment with the Andrew crisis and his work as Sovereign, there can’t be much room left in his head to deal with his younger son.”
