Actor George Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney, said ‘I do” in 2014 in Venice, Italy. The duo welcomed their twins, Ella and Alexander, three years later. So, why would Gorgeous George skip his pal Julia Roberts’ big night? He wanted to spend it with Amal.
Of course, George was previously married before tying the knot with Amal. “The greatest lesson I learned is to marry the right person, which I did,” George previously stated. “It has been nothing but an honor and a pleasure to be married to my wife.” Still, there were whispers about Amal and George hitting a rough patch over the summer.

While this couple is always under a microscope, speculation began to swirl this summer that all was not well in George and Amal’s marriage. Plus, reportedly, when George blew off months of abstinence by getting “dumb*ss drunk” the night of the Tony Awards, Amal was seemingly not impressed. George said that he “caught up for all his abstinence in one night,” adding that his hijinks caused him to be “sick all day the next day.”
Well, it seems as if George and Amal are in a happy place once again. RadarOnline reported that George opted to skip walking the red carpet in New York City for the premiere of Julia’s film, After the Hunt. Instead, George escorted his wife to a Broadway play. The couple took in the show, Art, which stars Neil Patrick Harris, Bobby Cannavale, and James Corden.
“He blew off a major Hollywood moment to be on a date with his wife. It was sweet – and very George,” a source stated. Insiders shared that the couple reportedly held hands during the play, with one source adding, “George looked thrilled just to be by her side.”
