Alan Carr ‘Slapped’ Knife Out of Stranger’s Hand Who Grabbed Friend Cleo Rocos

Alan Carr may not be the first name that springs to mind when you think of a daring knight in shining armor. But there’s clearly more to the gloriously extra British comedian than meets the eye. His pal Cleo Rocos recently revealed that he sprung into action to save her from a potential knife attack.

Alan and actress Cleo were enjoying a vacation in Marrakesh when they were accosted on a night out. According to Cleo, a man approached her and grabbed her arm.

She told The Sun: “I pushed him away but he grabbed me tighter and, in really bad English, he said he wanted to be with me. We didn’t think he was being serious but then he pulled a knife out. It was probably about ten inches long.”

Thankfully, Alan proved to be an unlikely hero. Cleo revealed: “Most people would have been terrified, but Alan was surprisingly calm. He pulled me to the other side of him, so he was standing between me and the man, and he said, ‘Don’t be so rude’. Before the man could react, he slapped the knife out of his hand. The man wasn’t expecting that and I was shocked.”

Despite his act of heroism, Alan apparently never used the story for clout. The actress said: “I recounted the story when I got back home, but Alan never mentioned it again. That’s how humble he is.”

The comedian is not only brave – he’s also pretty cunning, if his recent win on Celebrity Traitors UK is anything to go by. Cleo said of his victory: “I’m so proud of him. I think this will fling the doors wide open for him to do films. He would make a great Bond villain, like the one with the cat, because they are always a little comical.”
