In a fight for her father’s estate, Paris Jackson appears to have enlisted the help of her aunt Janet Jackson. She has accused lawyers John Branca and John McClain, executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, of making improper payments.
The model/actress/singer/musician and her brothers Prince and Bigi (formerly Blanket), have occasionally been estranged from the Jackson family, including Janet.

The goal of Paris and Janet’s reconciliation may be to join forces for control of the Thriller singer’s estate, according to RadarOnline. The two were seen embracing during Paris Fashion Week in early October.
Paris filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court demanding information on legal expenses after noticing payment discrepancies, according to RadarOnline.com. The lawyers denied the allegation, stating the cash was used to fund recent lawsuits. Wade Robson and James Safechuck are demanding $400 million in damages from the King of Pop’s estate in a 2025 sexual abuse lawsuit filed in California, citing childhood sexual abuse.
Janet and Paris have not seen each other often since Michael died from a fatal overdose of propofol in 2009. Much of the family’s estrangement has been due to taking control of Michael’s estate. Michael’s mother Katherine tried to stop Paris and her brothers from selling half of their father’s music catalog to Sony for $600 million. The sale went through in early 2024. In response, a few of Paris’ aunts and uncles wouldn’t allow Michael’s kids to visit their 95-year-old grandmother.
The family also wasn’t happy that Paris voiced her disapproval on social media of her father’s upcoming biopic. Her cousin Jaafar, son of Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson, will play the role of the pop star in the movie. The film is getting extensive buzz and is expected to add millions to Michael’s estate.
