Rainn Wilson sides with Justin Baldoni, claims report

Rainn Wilson’s private messages with Justin Baldoni have become part of the ongoing legal case between Baldoni and Blake Lively.

The texts, submitted by Baldoni’s legal team, were taken from a January 2024 group chat and show Wilson expressing sympathy after Baldoni described a confrontation with Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, over alleged misconduct on the set of It Ends With Us. Baldoni has consistently denied the accusations.

According to the filings, Wilson responded with concern after Baldoni said he felt “ambushed” during the discussion. Moreover, Wilson told him he was “stunned” by the situation and encouraged him to focus on completing the film. He wrote, “Oh my God. I can’t believe it. You were set up and ambushed and personally attacked. I’m stunned. I completely relate to you being stunned, like a deer in the headlights.” (via PEOPLE)

The Office star further added, “Onwards brother. Make a great and important and entertaining piece of storytelling. That’s all you can do now. So sorry for what you went [through].”

Wilson and Baldoni share a long friendship due to their mutual involvement in the Bahá’í faith and previous collaborations on podcasts and panel discussions. Their relationship dates back to at least 2016, when Baldoni appeared on Wilson’s Bahá’í Blogcast.

Lively first sued Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of misconduct and retaliation. Baldoni then responded with counterclaims of extortion and defamation. However, those filings were dismissed by Judge Lewis J. Liman in June 2025. The dispute remains ongoing, with a trial scheduled for March 2026.
