Keep D’Andra Simmons in your thoughts. The Real Housewives of Dallas alum just revealed that she has breast cancer. The announcement arrived via Instagram as she prepares to begin treatment, and she said that she’s looking forward to sharing her experience to inspire others impacted by the disease.
RHOD star D’Andra Simmons revealed her breast cancer diagnosis on Instagram
D’Andra announced her breast cancer diagnosis in an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 29.
The Bravoleb posed at UT Southwestern’s cancer center, which happens to be named after one of her family members.
“Today is the day! I didn’t think I would be the recipient of care at the UTSW Simmons Cancer Center my uncle Harold Simmons and his Foundation established almost 30 years ago, but now I have breast cancer,” D’andra wrote.
“I am truly grateful to have such an excellent care team in place. I’m the 3rd woman on my mother’s side of the family to be diagnosed with breast cancer … that we know about. After today, I will add breast cancer survivor to a long list of life experiences,” the reality star and skincare guru added.
D’Andra, who starred on RHOD for four seasons, said that she wants to “inspire others” in the future with her story. In the comments, folks from the Bravo world and beyond shared their words of support.
“Love you D’andra and am here for you if you need anything at all. You are in my prayers ?,’ wrote RHOD alum Stephanie Hollman.
Kristin Chenoweth dropped a heart emoji and wrote, “praying for a full recovery.” Food Network’s Pioneer Woman added, “Sending you lots and lots of love. [heart emoji] You’ve got this.”
