There is no question that Dorinda Medley is living her best life right now on Real Housewives of New York. She managed to put her differences with cabaret star Luann de Lesseps in her rear view. Last season Dorinda drunkenly heckled Luann at Luann’s cabaret debut by screaming “Jovani! Jovani!” So, Luann banned Dorinda from Barbara Kavovit’s clam bake.
When Dorinda once again hosted the ladies at her home in the Bezerkshires, she graciously accepted Countess Luann’s list of requirements. Dorinda arranged yoga and a massage for Luann. When Luann had a temper tantrum because she didn’t want to sleep in the infamous fish room, Dorinda plopped Barbara in the room instead. Dorinda spent $250,000 to display these taxidermy fishes. Don’t these ladies realize how hard Dorinda worked at making this room nice?
Dorinda Medley and Luann de Lesseps have been treading lightly on their relationship. They had a good heart to heart earlier in the season of Real Housewives of New York that seemed to put them on the right track. But since Luann started her cabaret performances, she’s been all consumed with playing the diva both onstage and off. There’s been little time for anything other than the adoration of the Countess fans.
But publicly, Dorinda has nothing but kind words for Luann. And since Luann is currently trading in her rotund house in upstate New York for more legal issues stemming from her Palm Beach arrest.
Wednesday night is a big one for Bravo viewers. We get to watch Southern Charm followed by Real Housewives of New York. This means that we (usually) get to watch RHONY and Southern Charmers on Watch What Happens Live that same night.
During last night’s WWHL episode, Ramona Singer and Craig Conover stopped by the Bravo clubhouse. What did Ramona have to say about the social climbing allegations against her? What does Craig think of ex-girlfriend Naomie Olindo’s relationship with Metul Shah?
Money can’t buy you class, and it also can’t buy you sobriety. Hard lessons learned for Real Housewives of New York cabaret STAH, Luann de Lesseps. Luann has seen some uncountess-like trouble, coming after a tumultuous relationship with ex-husband, Tom D’Agostino. Luann’s problems ramped up after she didn’t have a merry little Christmas in December 2017. She was arrested on Christmas Eve in Palm Beach on multiple charges including, disorderly intoxication, battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest with violence.
Since that unfortunate event, Luann found herself in rehab. She was also named in a lawsuit, brought on by her children. She cites this event as the reason she fell off the wagon and went to rehab for a second time. After several chances to redeem herself, Luann claims her adventures in cabaret is what ultimately saved her life. Unfortunately, after you go to jail for being drunk and refuse to comply with the judges orders to stay sober, you might find yourself back in the pokey.
Oh Real Housewives Of New York don’t ever change. Do I open ever recap with this sentence? But seriously Real Housewives Of New York spirals through cycles of emotions faster than a Cathy cartoon about dating and PMS, and I don’t want it any other way.
Anytime you take these ladies anywhere – even to the doctor; even to the nail salon; even to Luann de Lesseps‘ yardsale in the Hamptons, they exist in their own self-contained orbit of revolving arguments, makeups, friendships, feuds, hurt feelings, men… Like a drunken comet hurtling towards church here they come, slathered in statement necklaces and macrame, and shedding skin from laser facials, and shedding tears from all the people who have wronged them first leading them hear to a sky-high tolerance for emotional instability and pain. And hell hath no fury like a group of middle-aged women scorned, with nothing else to lose. Amen, sistas. A-MEN, but you don’t need ’em cause you have each other. (And cheesecake on the lanai, of course).
The Real Housewives of New York has been all about Luann de Lesseps this season. Luann’s cabaret show. Luann’s post-rehab life. Square peg Luann buying a round house in upstate New York. Sometimes it seems that all the other cast members are living in a scary theme park called Luann-Land. And they are trapped upside down on a terrifying ride they can’t get off of. Even more frightening then the Ramona Singer Ramonacoaster!
Understandably, anyone just out of rehab might be internally focused, but Luann has taken it to the next level. It makes you wonder how she will fare at this season’s reunion. Did Luann enter the set and tell her co-stars, “No autographs, please?” Or wear a tiara to match her statement necklace? We will be getting our answer to how she survives the reunion soon enough, as it taped last Friday. And Luann has spilled some details on what went down at the wrap-up of Season 11.
Tonight the Real Housewives Of New York continue to spin in circles at Luann de Lesseps round house in a dry county. Dry, my ass because they’re all playing a cabaret drinking game and these ladies are three sheets to the wind under the wings of the endangered wildlife flowing past Luann’s rounded windows!
Luann and Bethenny Frankel are still arguing, with Luann doubling down on her reasons for expelling Bethenny to ignore Bryn and stay out all night watching her perform cabaret in a nurses costume from Target.
Real Housewives of New York’s Luann de Lesseps has been in all sorts of trouble since her divorce from Tom D’Agostino. Luann was arrested in Palm Beach on Christmas Eve in 2017. She was charged with trespassing in a hotel room, disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence, and other charges.
To add to her legal issues, Luann was sued by her ex-husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps and her two children. Luann was supposed to put half of the funds from the sale of the family’s home in Bridgehampton into a trust for her two kids. She didn’t. In April of 2019, the suit was dropped. Barbara Kavovit and “OG” Bethenny Frankel took part in an intervention that resulted in Luann returning to rehab over the summer.
