For those of you Vanderpumpers who are having withdrawal until the next season, Bravo has the perfect fix in Vanderpump Rules Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky. Try saying that after a few shots of bourbon. But between all the ATV riding, cow poop shoveling, and being sprayed with deer piss, Jax Taylor has a lot more to contend with than just Brittany Cartwright‘s frog leg –eating family grilling him about his marriage plans.
We start at SUR, hipster music blaring and lights dimmed, watching Brittany serve tables and Jax mix up some Pumptinis. I would be lying if I didn’t say that this was making me miss Vanderpump Rules even more. Lisa Vanderpump swans in, leather jacket clad and questioning if Jax and Brittany have their shifts covered for their vacation. OK, but can we not pretend they actually have to get their shifts covered for a whole Bravo production of their spin off? Like what would happen if Katie Maloney had a Pucker and Pout party or Tom Sandoval had garage band practice and no one could cover for them? I’m assuming we would still have a show. Anyway, I digress. When Brittany walks away, Lisa slyly asks Jax how he is going to manage to pull the wool over the family’s eyes for two whole weeks then makes a cock joke about chickens and we are off and running, folks!
Just in case you were wondering, Brittany Cartwright is still making sandwiches for Jax Taylor, ya’ll! Despite rumors that the Vanderpump Rules stars had broken up post-filming of their spinoff, they’re confirming otherwise. And I guess that’s a good thing, because their new show, Vanderpump Rules: Jax And Brittany Take Kentucky, looks to hinge on the Big Question: i.e., will lifetime bachelor, Jax Taylor, propose?
In a recent interview, Jax reassured viewers that despite their engagement status remaining a mystery, he and Brittany are definitely not broken up. “You definitely can (put the kibosh on that rumor),” he said. “Don’t read those [blogs]!”
If you have been paying attention to Vanderpump Rules over the years, you know who Rachael O’Brien is. She is friends with the girls in the cast and she is one of Jax Taylor’s many ex girlfriends.
Needless to say she has a lot of insider knowledge and good stories- especially when it comes to Jax.
Dating Brittany Cartwright is arguably the best decision Jax Taylor has ever made. That’s not necessarily saying a lot considering all of the antics we have seen him pull on Vanderpump Rules, but Brittany truly is a gem. I never in a million years thought that the Jax I watched during Season 1 would ever enjoy spending a day at Disney Land, but it seems like Brittany has softened him.
This relationship has lasted longer than anyone expected and Jax and Brittany are actually a pretty adorable couple…. when he’s not harassing her for turkey sandwiches.
Even though I credit Jax Taylor’s antics for the initial success of Vanderpump Rules, I don’t really feel like anyone was asking for this spin off series with Brittany Cartwright. Obviously everyone loves Brittany, but this show seems like an obvious second coming of the Simple Life, but with romance thrown in. I don’t know how entertaining it will be to watch Jax struggle with farm chores while he tries to find himself in Kentucky.
Nevertheless, I’m still going to watch because I tune into pretty much every show Bravo has to offer. A first look at the series has been released and it’s pretty much exactly what we all expected.
The Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright spin-off was one of the worst kept secrets in recent memory. They were posting a ton of pictures and videos from Kentucky and they put up some super conspicuous photos of them “hanging out” in Bravo offices in front of the logo on the wall. So we all knew the Vanderpump Rules spin-off show was in the works, but we now know that it’s officially happening this summer. Obviously, I’m going to watch it because I watch pretty much everything on Bravo, but what I really want to know is how the other Pump Rules cast members feel about it.
I know that everyone loves Brittany, but she’s only been a full-time cast member on the show for one year, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the more seasoned cast members were jealous. I know they’ve all hated on Jax over the years, but he consistently brings it, so he really does deserve a spin-off in my opinion- well, as much as someone making poor choices on reality TV deserves any opportunity.
