After almost a year in the pandemic, December of 2020 revealed some major shifts in the reality of Bravo’s reality tv franchises. It was announced that Below Deck had taken the number one ranking on the network! That means besting every Real Housewife franchise, previously led by Real Housewives of Atlanta.
The most recent Below Deck Mediterranean season was an absolute stunner, with dramatic ripples still making their way through the Bravo-sphere. The current Below Deck Sailing Yacht franchise has also upped the drama and intrigue this season. We’re talking love triangles, anchor drama, and pregnancy announcements! Meanwhile, RHOA is bringing us some SERIOUS love triangle/engagement mess mixed with a whole lot of other drama. Like moths to a dumpster fire, fans can’t look away. No wonder viewers are scrambling for more content from both of these series!
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is a boss. She is married to Todd Tucker, and has three children. She has multiple businesses and a successful music career.
During Season 13 of RHOA, her charity foundation, Kandi C.A.R.E.S, sponsored a food drive to give out groceries to single parent families in need. And Kandi saved the entire season by throwing Cynthia Bailey a dungeon-themed bachelorette party for the ages. Kandi even brought along Bolo to entertain the ladies.
It’s been a while since Phaedra Parks was living her best life on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Phaedra was kicked off the show ahead of Season 10 after she spread a rumor that Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, wanted to allegedly drug and sexually assault Porsha Williams. That is still so wrong.
Phaedra also engaged in a feud with Kenya Moore. During a RHOA tropical get-away, Kenya flirted with Phaedra’s husband, Apollo Nida. Phaedra shamelessly busted out her thong collection, and it was enough to make anyone blush.
Real Housewives of Atlanta’s latest season might be winding down, but the drama off screen is still heating up. Thanks to BoloGate, Porsha Williams and Marlo Hampton have had quite the falling out. The once-friends found themselves as adversaries when Marlo accused Porsha of sleeping with Bolo. Adding fuel to the fire, Marlo made up with Kenya Moore, who has been all too happy to keep spreading the rumor. Things only got worse between Porsha and Marlo during cast trip to New Orleans. During a dinner out, Marlo flipped her lid on everyone, claiming to be stuck in the middle of Kenya and Porsha.
Porsha wasn’t over it then and she doesn’t seem over it now. On a recent RHOA after show, Porsha made her feelings about Marlo known. According to Porsha, “We don’t know what Marlo could’ve done. This girl is absolutely out of her mind. You have to understand how fast she made the switch. Like, she literally was my friend hours ago. So, it was really shocking to me and it, it was like a big sign, you need to get out of here. This girl could possibly be dangerous. For someone to make a switch that fast.”
Someone please tell the producers of The Real Housewives of Atlanta to get their act together. Has there ever been a season of Atlanta this boring before? They’re even cutting out dramatic scenes that they advertised? What’s up with that? We all know the women are going on a trip to Charleston, so the potential for drama is there. Group scenes are key to a successful season, and this season has been lacking in that. FINALLY, the group will be all together.
With the entire group finally about to be in the same place, the true dynamics can finally begin. There’s been a few little side feuds so far, but now allegiances will be formed. Sides will be chosen. Kenya Moore is trying her hardest to stir the pot, but nobody is taking the bait. The biggest thing looming within the group is the upcoming StripperGate drama. In what ways will an alleged night with the stripper change the course of this season?
It’s looking like there’s a huge shake up headed to the Real Housewives of Atlanta this season. Not only has Nene Leakes exited stage left, but we have some new recruits! That’s right. Don’t forget we’ve already been teased with two new wives. Drew Sidora and LaToya Ali. Drew is coming to us as a friend of Kandi Burruss. My favorite trivia about her is that she acted in That’s So Raven. LaToya is a YouTube star. Welcome to 2020 y’all. Remember when housewives were all selling real estate or married to retired athletes?
Porsha Williams, who has been super busy getting this country right and tight when it comes to Black Lives Matter, is also bringing someone new to the show for season 13. I actually can’t for this new one! She sounds…perfect!
Mama Joyce has been dragging Todd Tucker for years, calling him a “lemon” and some other nasty names. Todd gets a lot of flack for Kandi Burruss being the breadwinner in their relationship, but it’s not as if he’s just sitting home doing nothing. He is working hard on his projects in addition to taking care of their two youngest children.
Sure, most of them were probably started with some seed money from Kandi, but he actually is putting effort into his restaurants and creating some jobs in Atlanta, which is a great thing. And, now he has opened another restaurant, which is interesting timing given the pandemic and all, but if he can provide some jobs for people during this time, then I’m all for it.
