Gretchen Rossi recently spoke out about Slade Smiley and being a fan of The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Nene Leakes. Gretchen continues to wear the engagement ring given to her by her late fiance Jeff Beitzel, though she is now dating Slade.
On Nene Leakes- “I’m really good friends with NeNe. She is one of my favorite people ever. She is so cool.” Gretchen and Nene met at a commercial shoot for Bravo. “She is one of the most confident women I have ever met and I love that about her,” Gretchen said. “She would sit there and go, ‘I’d watch me too if I were watching the show.’ She’s so all about herself…I’m a strong, confident woman, but just in a very different demeanor.”
On Slade Smiley - “Slade is one of the best men I’ve come across in my life besides Jeff,” Gretchen explained. “And I know he’s a secure enough man that whether or not I’m wearing this ring would not matter to him at all.”

It’s easy for people to judge Gretchen if they havent been in her shoes.I believe she loved Jeff but she knew at the end his chances of living were slim.She is human and she desires physical and emotional connections with someone.Jeff was not able to give either for quite sometime before his death.What is she to do? How long should she mourn? Just because she dates someone or sleeps with someone it doesnt mean she didnt love Jeff.There are different kinds of love.She said publicly that her love for Jeff was emotional and not physical.She loved him enough to marry him.No one knows except them two what was between them.
I love Nene on Atlanta Housewives.Maybe Gretchen needs to move down to Atlanta and hang out with Nene.There arent many “real” people on any of these shows and I feel Nene is most authentic.
I could not agree more Jacalyn. People make Jeff out to seem retarded or incapable of making choices, which he did make. I know there is a whole lot that we dont know about their unique relationship and as long as he died a happy man. The rest of it is bologna.
