The upcoming episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will feature the debut of Lisa Wu Hartwell’s clothing line. The clothing line named “Closet Freak” was unveiled a while back during a fashion show in Atlanta.
We now have the photos of Lisa’s line, and let’s just say some of her pieces should have remained in the closet. The above photo is pretty much as “good” as it gets.
When asked to describe her clothing line, Lisa says, “I wanted very classical, elegant pieces, but still a little flirtatious. I think these days a lot of women overexpose themselves to get attention.” The good news is wearing Closet Freak will definitely get you some attention, though likely not the type of attention you were looking for.
This clothing line is in addition to Lisa’s many businesses – which include a jewelry line, real estate company, children’s clothing line, and any other business she decides to come up with while this post is being written. A reader once asked a good question, saying – “Lisa has a lot of businesses, but do any of them make her any money?” Interesting question indeed.

I am so upset…This is reality tv and I love the show but some of the issues are lies. Kim, I know you personally hoe. You know you are a prostitute. You know you do not have a big poppa, you have several and you know very well that you are hardly engaged. If you could not tell the truth because of your kids or whatever, you should have stayed off reality tv. Lisa said she is just a business women. The clothes do not actually represent her, just the fact that she made another business investment. That is her EMO. NeNe I love but you were born in NY dude and you best listen to Gregg before I have someone stunt you and say there your dad and take all your money. Sheree your pure garbage. Everything your getting for free because your broke, once again stay off reality tv unless you keep it real. Also it’s obvious that you are having an affair with homegirl. Turn up the heat with a sex scene, I know your the man but who cares, lick it, suck it, do what you do behind the scenes on screen, you’ll get back your props. I love you Dwight, you and NeNe’s husband are the most sensible on the show.
Lisa is beautiful- i think its fabulous- she is opening the door for women everywhere- you know you haters wish you could through a fashion show
so the outfits need alotta work… seriously. More creative than She by Sheree but puckering on every outfit? Thats just a mess. The jumpsuit was banging. And since you’re donating some of the profits and not claiming to be a designer all isnt lost.

I just saw She by Sheree’s fashion show and I was impressed. However, it was quite clear that Dwight was the creative genious behind the show. Sheree merely paid for the production and the clothes to be sown. Neither Sheree or Lisa have the paper validating themselves as designers. I thought that Lisa’s show and collection was very low end to say the least. I wouldn’t consider a fashion show at a night club with no dresscode high fashion.I’d like to see both Lisa and Shree on Project Runway designing, fitting and sowing just one of their designs.

Honesty, I think this clothes are cute if you are under 25 and under a size 6.

Not sure how I feel about “Closet Freak,” but regardless, I applaud the efforts of anyone who can have a vision and bring it to pass.
As far She by Sheree, I really think Sheree should consider learning more about the business of fashion (Lisa, too), before wanting to jump on the scene and call herself a “designer.” However, I also applaud her efforts.
In the end, anyone wanting a fashion line should first consider the void in the market that they can fill…these ladies have made clothes that they would wear, and that they like–hopefully, they won’t be the only ones that like them (womp,womp)…

Lisa is by far my favorite housewife but I think she should do tee shirts & jeans really sexy & classy for everyday wear! The name “Closet Freak” is amazing & what all women refer themselves as! We could do this clothing line thing very simple! Keep working at it Lisa!

Lisa’s clothing line looks like it would be sold in Wal-mart, not the high end stores she thinks it will be sold. And as far as the house goes, she would have gone through all their savings to stay there, if they had savings…. She claims that she is supportive of Ed’s retirement, I bet in the next six years they will divorced. She is the most ghetto of them all. She is mostly asian and tries to act like a bad black a**. She is a wannabe all the way around.

I don’t see anything in her collection that goes beyond first year design school. I know because I struggled through it myself.
I hope Lisa realizes the name she chose for her line has negative connotations and would never have a chance to be shown in any serious fashion shows b/c of the name alone.
She will never be taken seriously as a designer because she isn’t one. She probably has no creative imput other than choosing shiny sateen materials that don’t fit with any season, and ruffles. It looks like loungewear. It is poorly sewn and wouldn’t last one cleaning.
I think that fashions in the closet freak line were spectacular!!! They show that women can be sexy as well as modern!!! I hope she does a plus-size line and I will be sure to support it!!! You Go Girl!!!
Well she is my favorite Atlanta Housewife. However, as much as l like her, the clothes are not for me. They look homemade and well not marketable enough. I give her props for trying and funding it. Next time take some time to really work on it and I am sure it will be better!

I applaud you for your effort, however, your clothing line only appeals to a very small demographic.
Your line will, unfortunately fail. You did not take into consideration the people who may want to strech their investment beyond one season. You could, but chose to appeal to the “today people.
If you really waant to “make it” you need a few designs that carry over to other seasons.

Normally I am not a reality TV watcher. I prefer documentaries. However, I watched several episodes and, out of curiosity, I searched for Lisa and Sheree’s clothing lines.
First of all, I do sew and sew well. I make quality costumes and create many of my own designs. I also design swimwear for myself and many of my friends. My swimwear was greatly complimented on a trip to the carribean. Many women asked where I got them and when told I made them they were just amazed. Great coverage but still sexy.
Well, I guess if you want my comments, I will share them with you. I was pretty disappointed in Lisa’s line. “Freak” is a good word for her clothing line. She did get that part correct as it honestly reflects her taste in “design” if that’s what you call it. I would suggest that she try another form of entertainment. Although I thought the line was hilarious, it wasn’t funny in a good way.
Question: How tight can she pull that satin? Gathers are good when properly placed but those were quite unsightly. I hope she used a quality thread because those seams looked about to burst. Even the garment Lisa wore showed way too much pulling of the fabric. It’s fabric Lisa, not a miracle worker.
With respect to She by Sheree, she didn’t do much better. However, I must say that She by Sheree is more wearable but not by much. At least Sheree didn’t appear to put on a costume parade.
Do I think I can do better than these two? Of course. Not only do I know I could do better, I make my own patterns, make the final product and do all the alterations myself. I have much doubt that either of them could do the same.

I’m not too found of the clothes. I think they are a little raunchy. All of them seem to be up in the women’s crotch areas. They need some work. She’s talented so I’m sure she’ll figure it out.

Lisa’s line is better than He by Sheree (the “he” was no typo). Her line looks more fun and interesting and just like Sheree’s line it’s not that original, but it’s definitely more daring. Sheree walked through an H & M and basically copied them. Lisa’s stuff looks more like what you would find at a small boutique.

Unfortunately, the line looks cheap and very hoochie mama. Lisa’s sense of style is nothing to write home about and the line is a direct reflection of that. When she attended the “SHIT BY SHEREE” fashion show (No Typo) she looked like an extra from Star Trek. And for once I agree with Sheree about that ridiculous jumpsuit with the black doily like application on her chest she wore to her Closet Freak Event…It was a real piece of shit…I think Sheree summed it up when she said if Lisa’s jumpsuit was any indication of the fashion on display she didn’t miss much. She was right!!!

But you need to do all this yourself not, hire someone to do it for you. That’s what makes you-you!

Sheree-You came from my home town (Cleveland) and I know who you are personally. Your clothes line is ok, a lot better then what Lisa pulled off but in the same breath you did not design and sew these clothes yourself-nor did you get your last show together…Dwight was the creative genius behind this whole production and you should be grateful he offered to help you (Even though you got mad a few times when he “took over”) Dwight is the one that should be congratulated for pulling this off even if the clothes were not all that great. He made your show what it came out to be-Fabulous!
One more thing Sheree-Like I said, I do know you. The way you “act” on the show is not the REAL Sheree “Who gonna check me boo” That’s the REAL Cleveland Sheree we alll know! lol
