Abercrombie & Fitch Offers to Pay Jersey Shore’s The Situation to Not Wear Its Clothes!

While the popularity of MTV’s mega hit show Jersey Shore continues to soar, there is one clothing company that would like nothing to do with the show.

Evidently Abercrombie and Fitch is NOT a fan of The Situation, 29, and is now in fact offering him alongside his castmates a “substantial” amount of cash to never sport their gear again.

“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image,” the company said in a press release on Tuesday. “We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.”

The statement continued, “We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

Ouch! What is a bit odd is that the company reportedly capitlized on The Situation’s popularity last year by releasing a “Fitchuation” t-shirt.

And it turns out The Sitch is not the only reality star to turn off a clothing company. The Starcasm blog reports Teen Mom star Gary Shirley also received a request from another clothing company –Aeropostale — days ago asking him to stop wearing their gear as well.

Gary tweeted, “I’m no longer allowed to wear Aero although I did stop wearing it a while ago. They called and banned it. Was a very sad day for me 🙁 RIP..” He later added, “Aero reached out and asked to either blur or not wear at all…” Surely that has to hurt.
