On the New Year’s Day premiere of Mob Wives, reality star Renee Graziano was looking forward to what she called her fully body makeover. Going into surgery, Renee was anticipating a flatter tummy and a rounder tush. What she got was a near death experience and more than two weeks in the hospital after she lost over six pints off blood when the stitches on her back ripped open during an attempt to sit upright.
In a recent interview with HollywoodLife.com, Renee recounts what it felt like before she was rushed to the emergency room. She recalls, “I knew something was wrong. I felt my life slipping. I felt everything drain out of my body. I knew I was dying. Thank God from up above [that I didn't].”
As for her continuing recovery, Renee admits, “I wake up every day in pain. There was a lot of scar tissue that was left inside. It’s painful. It’s very uncomfortable.”
With her pain comes a warning. “Research your plastic surgeon. I would do it again, but know who you are dealing with,” Renee advises. “You are making a life decision.”
While her wounds heal, Renee is still hurt that her (seemingly former) friend and co-star Carla Facciolo made no attempt to come see her or even call during the difficult time. Renee tells the site, “I’ve always said that Carla is the ice princess. Now, she went from being the ice princess to being a plain, cold block of ice. Carla is block of ice. As boring as it is to watch it melt is as boring as what it is to be in her company. I have nothing to say to that girl.”
Renee continues, saying she has no regrets about Carla not receiving an invitation to her birthday party. “It was a very good decision. It was my party. I wanted to celebrate my life,” Renee states. “I didn’t want anybody around me that gave me conflict.” Um, that would be great if it weren’t for the giant free-for-all that is going to erupt at Renee’s party in the upcoming episode.
We all know Karen Gravano and Drita D’avanzo are about to let the insults and fists fly, picking up lots of other brawling participants along their way. Renee reveals she was clueless about the ladies’ impending throw down, claiming, “I was minding my own business. I was having a good time laughing, dancing and singing at the party. I was unaware of what was going to happen. I would never put anybody in that position. As the story unfolds, you will understand who hits who. It’s just a crazy old bunch of girls.” Takes one to know one?
Of course, Renee tends to be the mother hen with her cast mates. While Karen and Drita clearly ruined her party she’s willing to overlook their drama. She says, “It would be really nice to see them make up.”
What I’m sure was nice for Renee and her fellow mob ladies to see was their show rating as the second most watched show on New Year’s night. Over 2.36 million viewers tuned in to see the smackdown premiere of the second season! This marks a 56% increase over the first season’s premiere episode.
With the drama we’re about to see unfold, there is no doubt the viewers will keep flocking to their televisions every Sunday of the season!

Why is it that Renee’ is 50 years old and still depending on her father for financial support?
That crap that Renee’ pulled at her birthday party was totally unecessary! She specifically told both Drita and Karen to keep their distance away from each other at her party. They obliged and repected her wishes. Then, this mentally unbalanced MORON (Renee’) decides that since it’s her party, she’ll do whatever she wants, and tries to bring them together during the event (in front of everyone), and then BAM! The ish hits the fan!
I can understand why Carla doesn’t want to deal with Renee’. She IS to needy! Let’s face it, some friends can push you away with their neediness. All they do is drain your time and enegry. You could be in the best mood, and then after one conversation or confrontation with them, you’ll end up mentally exhausted!
Karen is looking for a problem with Drita. They squashed their beef and hugged it out already. None of the he said/she said even matters. If you really want to keep the peace and move forward drama free, then all you have to do is ignore the gossip and the rumors and just keep it moving. Karen could have done just that, but she wants to prove to everyone that she’s not afarid of Drita. I can’t wait to see Drita beat her up once and for all!
Drita is actually a really sweet person. But she’s also no nonsense and I can only admire and respect that. But Drita needs to knock it off with the talk of beating the women down who’ve slept with Lee during their marriage. THAT IS ALL ON LEE! IT’S HIS FAULT DRITA! HIT HIS ASS! (Whenever he comes home.)
Is there a special surgeon for the tongue????, she needs to behave like a lady , personality and attitude is whats important.These girls behave like gangsters…oops! .

It was painful to even watch the episode of Renee’s surgery. These ladies are crazy but I love the show. You can’t make this stuff up!

I like the show but these are grown women. What’s with having physical fights at that age. It seems childish. No matter what the dispute is, fighting with the fists is never the answer. Violence is violence, enough already.
These women are just too old to be fist fightin like some junior high school girls.
As far as Renee putting down the surgeon in this article, it would seem to me that she didn’t really know what she was getting into by asking for that kind of surgery. Don’t blame the surgeon, blame the person who rather than going to the gym and watching what she’s put in her mouth, she’s goes for this massive surgical procedure thats cosmetic, elective surgery.
The one thing that the surgeon may have done wrong which caused the stitches to split open like that is that he may have taken off too much skin/fat and you can’t put it back. So when he stitched her up it was very tight, he probably had to stretch the skin to put it back together. Otherwise he did what every plastic surgeon does, he did what the patient asked for.
She shouldn’t be putting him down and ruining his reputation because she had that experience. What I think the nurse’s did was wrong by asking her to sit up almost immediately after the surgery. They practically pulled up her off the bed and thats what caused the stitches to rip open.
She should have never been pulled up like that, even as I watched them doing it I thought what are they thinking pulling her like that.
Drita and Karen, come on grade school much? Drita is a violent woman period. She’s not some sweet angel. I get it about being tough, we all grew up having to look out for ourselves when we grew up in the places that we grew up. I grew up in North Jersey, right next to Staten Island. But acting tough and being tough are two different things.
And they are mothers now, disgusting.
Carla I don’t see her as being a good fit for this show, so I guess they had to make up some kind of storyline line for her to make her look like a tough bitch. She doesn’t fit into this cast of characters. She seems like a nice person, making wrong decisions when it comes to men.
And for the life of me, if a girlfriend tells me that my man has been hitting on me I will tend to believe my girlfriend. It’s some sort of girl code. Why would Renee lie about it? Most women tell their friends so the friends knows what kind of man they are dealing with, not to hurt them on purpose.
The new cast member I don’t know her name, the one that’s egging Karen on, she’s trouble with a capitol T. She’s the one that is making Karen angry at Drita whereas I think Drita and Karen would have made amends, this one turned it into a violent brawl. I hope she’s one the girls that got the busted jaw.
I like the show, I just wish they would act like ladies not street thugs. It’s the men in their lives that were the street thugs, not the women. So why trying acting like the men in their lives? It seems silly to me.
@Julie–U are so correct about the group. If they were all black women acting like that we would call the ghetto, low class n anything else that’s offensive. The women are not in high-school that are all troubled souls. They need to stop the fighting before the show is ruined. JMO

I look at the actions not the skin color, yes they were ghetto and low class screaming like female mobster wanna-be’s. They are very proud of their mob ties lol, Karen actually had a gleam in her eye at the museum.
I really felt for Renee as she walked with Junior and he’s professing his so-called love for her, knowing all the time he made a deal to set her dad up. She’ll be in therapy for a very long time!smh
Men can smell desperation and Renee’s fits right into Junior’s plan. Junior is only clinging to Renee’ now because he’s about to go to jail and he wants to make sure that he’ll have someone who’ll be there for him while he’s locked up. And who better than the one person who’s constantly loyal to him and allows him in? Renee’! She’ll stay by his side throughout this jail bid and then once he’s back in the free world, he will drop Renee’ like a bad habit. Junior is exhibiting typical behavior of a man who is in and out of jail. Geez. Talk about ulterior motives!
@65/66 they are all desperate women fighting over a man that have slept with half the women in staten island. It all seem really sad that they all will stoop that low for love. It’s in their head to be a ride or die chick. Wow they could be something really good if they put the effort into themselves, n not a prison man. What mentality they have grown accustom to.

Watching Renee walking in the park with Junior and Renee feeling so hopeful that they may get back together made me feel sad and angry at the same time. Sad for Renee because we know what’s coming. Renee is going to go “off he rails” when she finds out Junior ratted out her father.
I’m angry at Junior for playing Renee for what must be the umpteenth time in their relationship. Setting Renee up for this sort of heartbreak is just cruel.
As for the women fighting in last night’s show: they are a bit too old for these shenanigans but they certainly make any fights we’ve seen on the housewives shows look like child’s play in comparison.

Another reason I felt so sad and angry was because it got me thinking. How many of us have had a “Junior” in our lives in one form or another? Why do men do these things to women? And – why do we fall for it time and again? It’s not a mob mentality thing although I’m sure a case could be made for this. All the women on this show have been betrayed in one form or another by the men in their lives. If the show has taught us anything it’s to stay away from the bad boys. I know…I know. Easier said than done.
