Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell Wants to Adopt Younger Brother, Plus Farrah Abraham’s New Music VIDEO!

I always knew Catelynn Lowell was a stand-up girl, although it wouldn’t be hard to look like a gem given the shenanigans and drama of her Teen Mom counterparts.  She and her boyfriend Tyler Baltierra made the difficult decision to choose adoption for their daughter, and they both seem to be on the right track…which can’t be easy given their addict parents who happen to be in an abusive relationship with each other.  It’s super twisted.

Anyhoo, Catelynn has a six-year-old brother Nick, and she doesn’t want him growing up in the same environment she had as a small time.  She’s even pledged to adopt her brother if her mom April Baltierra falls off the wagon again.

Radar Online reports on Catelynn’s account of her childhood.  She remembers, “I would put pillows underneath her had while she was passed out on the table. I pretty much saw my mom drunk almost every day. I had to grow up really fast.”

She does not want that for her young brother.  While April claims to have been clean since September, Catelynn describes Nick’s dad as “a drug addict who lives out of a van,” and she vows,  “If my mom derails again, I will step in and adopt my brother.”

While adopting her brother would be a huge responsibility, I do believe Catelynn would be capable of giving Nick the stability he needs.  She explains, “I know that my mom loves her children, but when it comes to addict parents, sometimes they love their drug or their alcohol more than they love their children.”

While April doesn’t doubt Nick would be in a good environment with Catelynn, she isn’t giving up her son.  She says, “It would be a good place for Nick, but it’s not going to happen. My kids are too important to me.”

April continues, “I feel bad Catelynn had to grow up around me drinking all the time. She shouldn’t have had to worry about her mom.”

It’s such a sad situation all around, so I wanted to leave you with something a tad more upbeat…it’s Farrah Abraham‘s video for her single “On My Own.”  How very Les Miserables of her!  The song is from the soundtrack which coincides with the release of her recent memoir My Teenage Dream Ended, and it features Farrah and daughter Sophia playing and visiting the grave site of Derek Underwood, Sophia’s father who died before she was born.  Okay, so maybe NOT more upbeat…
