Oh my good gracious. Y'all know how I feel about the ladies of MTV's Teen Mom franchise, but I'll let you in on a little secret. I've always held out hope for a slightly normal life for the first cycle's Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra. The couple chose adoption for their daughter on their episode of 16 & Pregnant, and they have faced multiple relationship and socio-economic hurdles with grace and maturity.
Both Catelynn and Tyler came from backgrounds where the cards were already stacked against them, but the pair seems determined to beat the odds. Despite family drama (his jailbird dad married her addict mom–and that relationship was nothing short of abusive), the two graduated high school and started working towards college degrees. Now, they are moving their issues to MTV's sister network. Le sigh.

Sure, they've had to deal with Catelynn's deep seeded insecurity issues and Tyler's desire to move to New Orleans to become an actor (yes, it's still a funny thought…not the acting, nor the NoLa, but the acting IN New Orleans), but duo has appeared to be together for the long haul. Heck, they're even engaged and planning their wedding.
You'll have to forgive me if I'm skeptical of today's tea regarding the couple. Either Tyler and Catelynn are looking for a reality television paycheck much like their counterparts (which is totally opposite from how they've portrayed themselves in the past), or they aren't as solid as they'd like their fans to believe. If it's the latter, I'd sure as heck like to think that they wouldn't resort to what I'm about to share…but it is what it is, I guess.
TMZ is reporting that Catelynn and Tyler will be appearing on the upcoming season of Couples Therapy. Yeah, so they are basically Teen Mom's version of Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison…as much as it pains me to type that.
According to inside sources, the pair will air their dirty laundry on VH1. While I hope that they'll receive the relationship advice they need to strengthen their bond, I can't help but have a nagging suspicion that they are no less fame hungry than their MTV peers.
The site also claims that Joe Francis from Girls Gone Wild fame and VH1's go-to reality clock-wearing rapper Flavor Flav will be appearing with their significant others. I'd like to say I won't tune in, but I don't want to miss this train wreck!
