Does anyone watch reality competitions anymore?  Sure, we love some housewives drama and hip hop craziness, but is anyone enjoying singing contests or dating situations?

I think y'all know what know what I'm getting at here…the ratings for shows like The Voice, Bachelorette, and America's Got Talent are dismal compared to past seasons.  Maybe everyone's summer is busier and more intense.  Perhaps, dare I say, there isn't enough time to be bothered with these seasonal fillers.  Say it isn't so!

According to Deadline, AGT's two hour premiere had it all–booty dancing, snake charming, and new judges Heidi Klum and Mel B.  Unfortunately, it didn't have the numbers.  The ratings for this week's show were down 16% from last year's May debut.  In fact the eighth season opener garnered the lowest premiere numbers in the show's history.  Oddly enough, it was the most watched show of the night.

While America's Got Talent rode the coattails of the always popular singing competition The Voice, Usher, Blake Shelton, and crew have seen a decline in viewership as well.  NBC took the prize for the most viewers on Tuesday with both show, but still The Voice's elimination show was the least watched in the series' history.

I guess ABC shouldn't feel badly that no one is tuning in to watch Desiree Hartsock either.  Last week's Bachelorette premiere had the lowest ratings ever for a debut show in the franchise, and even fewer people tuned in for the second installment.  Nearly 5.8 million people watched the first episode last week, and only 5.6 million returned Monday night.

Is no one watching TV anymore?  Y'all's summers must be way more exciting than mine!
