Looks like Kailyn Lowry’s picked up the pen again. Following on the heels of the success of her New York Times Best Selling memoir, Pride Over Pity, the Teen Mom 2 star is already looking for a publisher for her new venture.
On October 20 Kailyn posted an announcement via Instagram and Twitter, “Looking for a publisher for my children’s book! Not really up my current publisher’s alley.”

The Teen Mom 2 star got responses almost immediately, from publishers and friends of publishers offering her an in. The book is already written, and Kailyn even has an illustrator lined up. No details have surfaced on what the book’s about, though.
Kailyn’s 2014 memoir skyrocketed up the bestseller lists based partly on her Teen Mom celebrity status but also, surely, on the power of her story. Pride Over Pity recounts her past sexual assaults, her mother’s alcoholism and being forced to get an abortion on her sweet sixteenth birthday.
As the title implies, though, this teen mom won’t give in to self pity about her past. Besides being a best selling author, Kailyn Lowry has also ventured into selling candles and makeup, and is planning on college. Not to mention being one of the stars of a hit MTV reality series.
Could Kailyn’s efforts at generating income have been partly fueled by doubts about whether Teen Mom 2 would be renewed for a sixth season? It was touch-and-go for a while. MTV had already planned to end the series with Season 5, which surely left some of the girls biting their nails. In September, however, MTV began calling the Moms to see if they’d be on board for a sixth season.
So now Jenelle and Leah have a whole season before they have to worry about getting a “real” job. Whatever happens to the show after that, though, we bet Kailyn will be just fine.
