A Tribute Mural Memorializing Big Ang Is Unveiled On Staten Island

There is no doubt that Mob Wives’ Big Ang was larger than life when she was on this earth, and her Staten Island home has memorialized the fun-loving reality star in a big way. The city commissioned a mural of Ang that was unveiled in front of family, friends, and fans on Sunday morning.

As the final season of Mob Wives winds down, it’s been difficult to watch Ang struggle with the return of her cancer (and subsequent clean bill of health) after losing her to cancer three short weeks ago. In the days following her death, there was unnecessary drama surrounding her co-stars, but hopefully, this mural will serve as a constant reminder to live and love as Ang did.

VH1 shares the details behind the magnificent painting while co-star Drita D’avanzo (and countless fans) showcased it on social media. The mural was created by artists Danielle Mastrion and Vincent Santorella and its home is on a wall outside The Country Mouse, a children’s boutique owned by Ang’s sister, Janine Detore

Both Janine and Drita gave a speech and shared their favorite Ang stories with the crowd. Drita posted the below picture of her sharing a moment with Janine on Instagram, captioning, “#KissTheTears for #BigAngs sister n best friend @janinedetore what she has done n said would make anyone that does not have a sister…want one like her.Incredible woman just like #BigAng love u #Janine today was special because of u!!!!Thank u! #DetoreFamilyLove”

This Wednesday at 9PM following Mob Wives, VH1 will air a tribute to Ang with  Larger Than Life: A Celebration of Big Ang. I need to remember to get tissues!
