Aside from the beginning of this season with the continued fall out from Carole Radziwill dating Luann de Lesseps former chef Adam Kenworthy, Carole hasn’t had too much drama. The only thing that really came her way were accusations that she lived in Bethenny Frankel’s shadow and that the two of them are too cliquey. Jules Wainstein even said that Carole is a different person depending on whether or not she is around Bethenny.
Carole didn’t really pop off at the reunion, but she let her thoughts loose in a Twitter rant aimed against Jules and those mean girl accusations. Although I do think that Carole and Bethenny are clingy, I don’t think that means they are mean girls. It is only natural for two people in a large “friend” group to be closer than they are to the rest of them. It really seemed like Jules was reaching for a story line and now Carole has decided to thrown down.
Bethenny gushes about Shields, “He’s exceptionally brilliant and funny, and a very major family person.” Bethenny has known Shields as “a friend” for 27 years, and shares that her daughter Bryn met him when she was a baby. She says Bryn thinks “he’s very silly and fun and nice.”
Well this show has certainly come full circle this season, hasn’t it? We started this Real Housewives of New York reunion with Bethenny Frankel using her Botox jaw to rip the surgically tucked skin off these women, and we ended things with a hapless Bethenny Frankel sniffling while everyone sang kumbaya. I am perplexed.
The bulk of the episode, like the bulk of the reunion, and pretty much the majority of the season, centered around the scintillating personal life of Luann de Lesseps. What happens in Luann’s bedroom is a national attraction at this point. People don’t go to NYC to visit the Statue of Liberty any longer, they to study the newest de Lesseps donation – the Penthouse bedroom of the ex Mrs. Countess.
Andy starts off asking Lu some questions about her upcoming wedding. Luann says the date is still set for New Year’s Eve. She says that they have about 250 guest expected for the wedding. She’s still planning to sing for Tom, but wouldn’t reveal if it was going to be an original song or a cover. Luann says her former housekeeper Rosie won’t be there, but she is inviting Jacques. Luann also shared that Tom met The Count this summer at a wedding in Switzerland and they really liked each other. She says they didn’t register anywhere but are asking for anyone wanting to give them a gift, to donate to charity (The American Cancer Society).
Brandi explains that her family talked to someone on Friday who “speaks to the other side” and that was the trigger for her panic attack. So her Tweet wasn’t about her supposed back taxes report. I’m going to guess she was being taped for an episode of the Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry? She didn’t specify, so we’ll have to wait and see.
We all heard about some of the Real Housewives of New York cast pushing for higher salaries last season. The moves didn’t work and as a result many of them were pushed into having smaller roles and believe it or not one of those people was Luann de Lesseps. You wouldn’t know it since most of the season focused on her controversial relationship with Tom D’Agostino and her discord with Bethenny Frankel.
Now, Luann is accusing Bethenny – and her camp – of spreading some nasty rumors about her, and the ladies are back at it with the push for higher salaries. Some things will never change when it comes to the Housewives.
Nick was already on three reality shows in the Bachelor franchise, so why not bring in someone from Bravo? Yes, it’s a super random idea, but it would probably bring some additional viewers to the series. The only real issue that I see is that Real Housewives of Orange County is a Bravo show which is a part of the NBC Universal family and The Bachelor airs on ABC, but that might be irrelevant since Lauri hasn’t been a full time Housewife in years. But anyway, let’s get back to the story here.
