Bethenny Frankel's talk show 'bethenny' has been canceled! The powers that be announced today that they would not be renewing her show for a second season.
Bethenny debuted her show in a summer trial back in 2012 and it did well enough that they gave her the green light for a full season nationwide. Her show, which debuted this past fall, struggled in the ratings in a crowded talk show market.
Her show has done better recently but it wasn't enough to warrant a season 2. Telepicutres shared, "We are incredibly proud of the creativity, passion and professionalism Bethenny and her staff brought to daytime each and every day and look forward to finishing out the season with more great original episodes. While we are disappointed not to be able to bring the series back for a second season, we remain convinced that she has a unique voice and that she will continue to be successful in the future.”
Well now the two former reality stars are not getting along! So sad. In response to Farrah's criticisms, Bethenny dismisses her as just needing attention. Takes one to know one!
"[I like to] have a conversation with someone that I think will show a different side [of them], and a different conversation, and reflect human behavior, but a lot of those people are controversial for a reason, and they like to be controversial," Bethennytold Wetpaint about her experiences dealing with Farrah.
Well now Bethenny is suddenly dating someone. Isn't that convenient. She's trying a different angle on the 'I need attention' train, because at this point she needs to do anything to boost ratings for her lagging talk show! Yesterday Bethenny "accidentally" revealed on her show that yeah, she's kinda with someone again.
GG Gharachedaghi from Shahs of Sunset was the guest and they were doing a pre-taped segment. GG she was discussing her failed engagement when Bethenny slipped and spilled that she too has moved on following a traumatic breakup. Couldn't have been that traumatic as she recently revealed that she never loved Jason Hoppy all that much!
Bethenny believed the show would catapult her out of the reality television genre and give her the opportunity to connect one-on-one with her fans. Unfortunately "fans" aren't tuning in. And she's being slaughtered in the ratings by Queen Latifah, who surprisingly turned out to be her biggest talk show rival.
"Bethenny is livid about Queen Latifah beating her – she can't believe this is happening," a source told Star Magazine (print edition). Indeed Bethenny's ratings have been slipping. Bethenny's show is averaging a .9 Nielsen rating while Queen Latifah is nabbing a healthy 1.4.
One show Bethenny has been avoiding is her former television home, Real Housewives of New York. But not for lack of trying! According to "sources" Bethenny reached out to former BFF-turned nemesis Jill Zarin to beg her to appear as a guest. She also approached reportedly broke former housewife Alex McCord and dangled a financial incentive in front of her nose.
So did the ladies take her up on it? Not. A. Chance! “The show called Alex’s publicist and told them about their grand plan, but said that all they could offer her was $400 — which is less than the SAG minimum,” a source informed Radar Online. Bethenny is a girl who loves a bargain!
Bethenny Frankel is aware that being a self-described self-help guru does not make you a psychiatrist, right? Oh the delusional never cease to amaze me!
Telling New York Family that giving advice is "like a responsibility," Faux-prah says her dream talk show guest is Amanda Bynes. And why? Cause Bethenny believes she can help Amanda get her wig on straight!
"Amanda Bynes, who is going through something. I know that she would feel safe with me," Bethenny enthused.
Bethenny admits that she she is soured on the idea of a fairy tale love story. "Part of my identity was always looking for a man. I always wanted to meet someone – to complete you, take care of you," Bethenny acknowledges of her history with men and with reality TV.
With a new talk show to promote and a never-ending divorce to distract from, Bethenny is going back to her roots as the every woman cynic who anyone can relate to. I mean she totally can walk around New York without being mobbed by over-zealous fans and paparazzi. She's just sooooo normal and ish.
"If I go to a street fair and someone recognizes me, I’m still surprised,” Bethennytells NY Daily News. “And you know what? I hope that never changes. I hope I can always look at things that way.” What way – the way of pretending she doesn't call the paps to photograph her leaving her building every. single. day. Yeah, we know your agenda Ms. Pimping Out My Life On A Zillion Reality Shows!
