WHY?!? The reunion does not need Lucy's input. In my opinion, Mariah's mother has NO place at the reunion, especially considering the husbands are not even there. Nevertheless, Lucy makes an appearance, and she is just as annoying as I feared.
Right out of the gate, Lucy plays the victim, crying about how bad Toya hurt her family. "Friends do not do that," she says. "There's no excuse for it." So, Andy points out, Lucy said she was happy that "Mariah beat Toya" and she, too, smacked Toya in the head with her purse. Lucy is like, I AM happy that Mariah beat her, and she's lucky I didn't attack her too. I'm confused. So, beating on your friends is perfectly acceptable, then?
The "fierce, fabulous, and fun-loving" Quad is Mariah's best friend. She's basically the queen bee in training and some call her Mariah's puppet. Mariah refers to Dr. Jackie as Dr. Gandhi, adding that she's always prim, proper, and lady-like. Dr. Simone's less than glowing review goes something like, she's always in your face with a vodka in her hand. How insulting. This is going to be a very long hour.
Following the season finale, Kari and Mariah blogged about the lasting effects of Married to Medicine on their friendship.
"For the entire season I have endured the wrath of Mariah and her family," blogged Kari. "I cannot help but wonder what it could have been like for me had I always agreed with her ways, no matter what, as Quad did. Quad was concerned that Mariah considers herself connector of the ladies … so Quad worries that speaking out against Mariah will have a negative impact on her."
In a recent interview with DMVixen.com, Toya explained that Mariah told her about Lauren's adoption over two years ago and never asked her to keep mum about it. Other members of the cast have confirmed that the adoption was not a secret. Still, Toya gave Mariah a heads up when Eugene said "Aydin is a great guy. He's a stand-up guy, and he adopted her daughter" on camera.
"When I said something to her, she was like, Oh you guys plotted this! You plotted this! and we are like, Plotted WHAT? Like, what do you mean? The only conclusion we could come to is that in order for Mariah and Aydin to think of us [as being malicious] is because they think like that themselves," Toya shares. "It was like if this is such a big family secret, then why do you keep bringing it up on camera? Why aren’t y’all shutting that down?"
Yes, I find Mariah to be too aggressive and extremely unlikable, but that does not mean I'm blind to Kari andToya's antics. Do I sometimes think the snotty comments directed at Mariah are warranted though? Yes. Definitely. More than likely, if you do not like Koya, you cheer on Quariah. To each their own. If I were Kari or Toya, I'd completely eliminate Mariah (and by extension Quad) from my life, but I get that they all need to interact for the sake of the show. Lucky us! ;)
Quad and Gregory kick off the season finale with yet another disagreement over starting a family. He wants a baby; she wants to be a reality TV star. Quad says, besides all that "pushing, tugging, pulling, and gaining weight," there are too many issues in this group of women to bring in kids of her own. All is right in Quad's world as long as she has an audience (says me) and her dogs (says her). There's nothing wrong with that, at all, but my goodness did these two ever talk about expectations, goals, family, etc. before they got married?
Kari, who organized the trip, shared, "I was glad that I had invited the ladies on the wine tour, but for me it was a very difficult day. I had worked hard to put things together, so that everyone could have a good time and hopefully heal from things. It was a generous invitation and a peace offering. One that I hoped would bring lasting peace."
Quad's "short bus" comment ruined Kari's warm and fuzzy feelings almost instantly. "Quad immediately complained that the bus was too small. I could not believe her rudeness. I guess that for Quad that a 16-passenger party bus with plush leather couches, two full bars, fiber optic lighting, and plasma TVs is not enough for a one-hour journey for six people."
Our favorite reality TV stars can't get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to Twitter to share even more of their daily lives with us. And we love them for it! Here's a roundup of some of our favorite photos from the Twitterverse this week! Enjoy!
