It’s been an emotional year for the Sister Wives crew: divorce, marriage, legal marriage, pregnancy, and finally, adoption. That’s pretty minimal drama considering we’re talking about a family of about 62 zillion people, right?! But the biggest change: Kody Brown legally wed Robyn – his fourth wife – and on June 17th also legally adopted her three children from a previous relationship. Cause Hair Flips really should be assuming more dependents!
Speaking out on the exciting experience, Robyn and Kody describe it as providing “validation” and security to their family.
Meri Brown, Kody’s first wife and for 20 years his lone legal wife, graciously stepped aside to let Robyn take her place as the one legally yoked to Kody’s luscious locks. It’s like a fairy tale!
Our favorite reality TV stars cannot get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to social media to share even more of their lives with us. And we would not have it any other way. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite snapshots and selfies from this week. Enjoy.
The official word is that Kody divorced Meri to legally marry Robyn so that her children by a previous marriage could be adopted. It had absolutely nothing to do with Robyn being younger, hotter, and still enamored with Kody’s hair. Last week Kody and Robyn announced their second pregnancy.
The newest offspring will be Kody’s 18th(!!!!) and Robyn’s 5th. Fans of the show have been eagerly waiting for Meri to issue a reaction. Meri struggled with infertility; she and Kody only have one child, Mariah, who is currently in college. However Meri’s reaction to the pregnancy news was drama-free and polite.
Well, well, well. Are we starting to see some deeper cracks in Kody Brown's "happy" marriages? TLC needed to save the biggest issues for the final episode of the season of Sister Wives. Robyn's budget jewelry line, Meri's coveted wet bar, Janelle's scale hatred, and Christine's crafting have been leading up to some finale night dramz!
Last night, we began with Kody sharing that he and his wives went to counseling when living in Utah, and they are meeting with a new therapist to discuss their issues. This woman was recommended by their previous therapist who specialized in plural families. After taking personality tests (Meri is not on board), we learn that this process is just furthering their mission statement goal. That's really going to be their thing, isn't it? Kody is initially wary of this educated woman. She's probably a feminist, and feminists aren't fans of polygamy. Who knew?
Kody and Meri are sitting down with Mariah to discuss her expensive tuition. Mariah's scholarship doesn't cover very much, and the school costs much more than Logan's UNLV education. Mariah offers to get another job, but Kody reminds her that her she has sixteen other siblings that they need to consider. Kody isn't willing to co-sign any loans because, you know, he wants to retire. Tell me again how you retire from not having a job? Mariah is devastated, and Meri tells Kody that they've been working on other scholarship options that he isn't aware of since he's been so M.I.A. lately. Wait, I thought this cul-de-sac compound was supposed to bring everyone closer….literally?
Hollywood Life is reporting that TLC gave the green light today for a fourth season of the hit show. It must have been a no-brainer for the network, as the season finale was only a week ago! Apparently TLC doesn't play the same games of rumors and speculation that the other networks love to play with the press.
There are no details yet as to when they'll start shooting and airing season 4. We'll keep you posted!
