Over 10 million viewers witnessed Ed Swiderski’s proposal to Jillian Harris on The Bachelorette’s season finale. The overjoyed couple sat down to talk to PEOPLE in its most recent issue about getting engaged on TV, and their future plans. Both Ed and Jillian believe they have a normal relationship even though they met on the ABC reality dating show.
The duo are really excited now that they can finally be seen together in public following the engagement, which was filmed on May 24 in Hawaii. The love birds are already discussing a 2010 wedding.
“It feels more normal than any relationship I’ve ever had,” Harris says. “It’s very strange how it’s such a contradiction to have something so normal come from something that’s so manic.” “When we’re together it’s very real,” she says. “We make dinner, we drink in the hot tub, we watch movies, and we fall asleep in front of the TV.”
According to Ed, the two biggest things he has come to appreciate about his new fiancée are how important family is to her and her cooking.
