ABC Officially Announces Brad Womack’s Return As Bachelor, Plus DWTS Recap!

It’s official! Following weeks of speculation, ABC has officially confirmed Brad Womack will be returning as the new Bachelor.

The announcement came during last night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.  For those of you not familiar with Brad, he was the season 11 Bachelor back in 2007, and became infamous after dumping both of his final two picks.

ABC is however claiming Brad, 37, is now a changed man.  According to the network, Brad has undergone “intensive therapy” and has been on a “quite painful journey of self-awareness” since the 2007 fiasco.

Brad, a Texas bar owner, is also set to appear on the Ellen show today, during which he will admit to having some “commitment issues” in the past.

“More importantly, that [Bachelor] process is difficult,” said Brad in the Ellen interview. “I thought that I was as open as I was supposed to be and clearly I wasn’t. I walked away and wound up all alone and left two girls standing there.”

Brad also assures fans of the show that things will be different this go.  “I know it’s tough to believe it’s a television show but…I am a completely different person. I don’t want to visit that thought.”

Moving right along to last night’s Dancing With The Stars episode.  For the most part, all of the stars showed major improvement over their first dance with the sole exception of Michael Bolton, who earned the lowest score of the night – a 12 for his dull jive, which Bruno called the worst jive dance in the history of the show.

Despite being toted as the one to beat, Brandy and partner Maksim failed to impress last night, falling to the middle of the pack with a score of 21.  The highest score of the night once again went to Jennifer Grey, scoring a 24 for her impressive quickstep dance.
