Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is now expressing regret over leaving her daughter Sophia behind in Iowa while she moved to Florida months ago.
As reported two weeks ago, Farrah left 2-year-old Sophia behind in Iowa to live with her mom Debra Danielson, while she moved 1,600 miles away to attend school at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and to also pursue her modeling career. In a new interview with Life & Style, Farrah, 20, opens up about the regret and painful consequences of her decision.
“It was a very hard choice,” Farrah tells Life & Style, adding that she was “depressed” at the time. “The first couple of days [after leaving Sophia], I cried a lot.”
It however appears that several months later, Farrah has had a change of heart. “I miss my daughter a lot,” she says. According to Life & Style, Farrah has decided that she wants to move Sophia to Florida to come live with her.
“Farrah is in the process of bringing her to Florida for good,” a friend of Farrah’s confirms. “She has been talking to her mom about moving to Florida with Sophia. This way Farrah can still continue with her studies and have her daughter with her, and her mom would be there to give her the extra help she needs.”
Farrah’s ex-boyfriend Daniel Alvarez is however telling In Touch Weekly magazine that Farrah doesn’t have her priorities right. According to Daniel, Farrah is more concerned with partying than being a mom to Sophia.
“Farrah sometimes left Sophia with neighbors so she could go out,” says Daniel adding that Farrah has “big dreams” and wants to launch a clothing line and star in her own TV show.
OK! magazine chimes in reporting that Farrah usually ignores Sophia whenever she comes to visit her in Florida. “Sophia is either with a babysitter, because Farrah is out, or she’s being sent back to Iowa. One of the most important things for a child’s development is routine and stability and Sophia has neither,” says a source.
Farrah has also received some criticism for making her mom Debra, who was arrested in 2010 for chocking her, Sophia’s primary caregiver. The source adds that Farrah “had told pals her mom’s hit her before” that 2010 incident.
