Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood On Suicide Watch In Jail; Having A Hard Time

Amber Portwood continues to remain in Indiana’s Madison County Jail after spending the holidays there, but things are not going well for the reality star who is now on suicide watch.

Amber is expected to stay behind bars until January 27th after she was locked up for probation violations and being found with over 40 pills for a controlled substance. According to sources, Amber, who testified last week that she felt “exploited” by appearing on Teen Mom and wants off the show, is being brutally harassed while incarcerated for her appearance on the reality show!

MailOnline is reporting that the 21-year-old Amber is having a horrible experience behind bars — which is the idea since it’s, you know, a punishment. “She’s barely eaten or had any sleep in over a week and she’s constantly being harassed in jail because of Teen Mom,” an insider reports.

“Amber thought because she was a celebrity she’d get out of jail within a few hours like Lindsay Lohan, but she definitely had a wake up call and hasn’t stopped crying since being locked up.” Unfortunately, Circuit Court Judge David Happe decided Amber should stay in the facility until her next hearing.

Faced with a month in jail (and possibly more) Amber has become more “depressed and alone” than ever after being constantly made fun of by other inmates. “She has barely eaten or slept in a full week after one girl purposely knocked over her food tray and another inmate threw toilet water in her face while she was trying to sleep.”

“Amber has already been moved twice from two other cell blocks because all the inmates were threatening her and she was scared she’d get beat up,” the insider continues. Because of the pressures she is now facing behind bars, “Amber recently told the guard if she was sent to prison she would kill herself which put the Teen Mom on temporary suicide watch.”

Adding to her volatile situation an insider reports that the “really depressed” Amber is without her psych meds because the jail allegedly “won’t give her any prescription medication for her anxiety.” Even worse for poor Amber she had no visitors on Christmas Day since she is only allowed visitors on Saturdays and Christmas fell on Sunday this year. Her mother Tonya has been her only visitor since her stay and she has not seen her daughter.

Amber reportedly called her ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley, but the conversation did not go well. “Amber called Gary and Leah on Christmas morning and had a meltdown on the phone after hearing Gary’s new girlfriend was spending the holiday with her daughter,” the insider revealed. “She cursed out Gary saying it was his fault she was in jail, but Gary told Amber she got what she deserved and hung up on her.”

“Amber feels threatened that she is being replaced as Leah’s mom and she didn’t even have a chance to buy her daughter Christmas gifts before going to jail.”

“Gary thinks Amber being in jail for a long period of time is a good thing for her, he thinks she needs to finally learn her lesson and suffer the consequences.” Amber’s mother does not agree — she believes leaving reality TV behind is the right choice for Amber and that to get her life back on track she needs to leave the show. She is working vehemently to get Amber released from her MTV contract!

“Amber’s mom [Tonya] said the only way she’ll help her get out is if she quits the show so they’re currently negotiating with MTV trying to get her out of her contract,” the insider adds. “I really think this is the final straw for Amber, she’s quitting Teen Mom for good.” A photo of Amber and Tonya leaving court is below.
