Chris Harrison Won’t Be The Next Bachelor, Feels Protective Of Emily Maynard

Chris Harrison, oh blue-eyed, well-dressed, always there with stellar love advice, Chris Harrison.  Call me.   As I’m sure y’all know, I was very upset to hear about the divorce of the Bachelor franchise’s most level-headed and handsome host.  Of course, instead of letting him deal with his family problems behind closed doors, People Magazine wonders if he himself will be the next Bachelor.  Um, have you seen him?  While he’s a beyond fabulous host of the train wreck, he’s way too good to be an actual contestant.  For shame!

The very classy Mr. Harrison manages to remain upbeat, telling the magazine, “Getting out of a 22-year relationship, having just announced my divorce to the world a week ago, having two kids and trying to start a new life, I’m thinking I wouldn’t exactly be a great candidate to be the bachelor right now or anytime soon.”

The Bachelor/Bachelorette mentor reminds viewers, “I had an amazing 18-year marriage to a incredible woman.  I don’t have any regrets about the last 22 years of my life, the love and family that I had or the love and friendship that I have now [with Gwen]. I still hold that very dear and cherish it very much.”  Of course he does, he’s perfect in every way!  #nosarcasmIlovehim

Chris cites that his recent split hasn’t tarnished his belief that the show is still a viable place to find love (he’s clearly paid to say that…I can’t bear the thought that he actually truly believes it).  He reveals, “I still, and maybe more than ever, believe in the search and what everybody is doing on the show because I’ve been there and I lived that life.  I’ve loved deeply with [my] whole heart and know how great it can be. I will hopefully fall in love and find that again.”  Yes you will, Chris.  And here’s hoping it’s with me.

Of his future foray into dating, Chris is all about making light of his heavy situation.  He jokes of potential ladies, “Yep, [they will expect] the helicopter and private jet.  I haven’t actually had a date in 22 years so we’ll see.”  Point taken…I’ll tread lightly with you, Mr. Harrison.

Chris even speaks about Emily Maynard’s upcoming season to the LATimes.com, calling her series “drastically different than anything we’ve ever done.”  She is, of course, the first single mom ever to look for love in this arena, and Chris never forgot that for a moment (because he’s perfect).  He tells the site, “Throughout the show, there was always just that underlying issue of, she’s a mom, and is the guy ready?”  He’s always on the lookout, always.  🙂

He even defends having a race car driver in Emily’s dating pool, given her tragic history with NASCAR.  Chris reminds fans, “First of all, people need to understand that Emily loves the track. She loves racing. That is a huge part of her life and her family.”  Seriously, I do have to agree with Chris on that point.  And not just because I want him to call me…Kidding!  Maybe.
