On this week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York we met the incorrigible skirt-chasing Papaviva. Aviva Drescher‘s dad, George, shares Pinot Singer‘s lack of tact (although his seems deliberate) and her penchant for the outrageous; naturally Aviva thought he would be perfect for Pinot bestie and fellow sexy times enthusiast Sonja Morgan.
Since this was filmed during a time when everyone was getting along, Sonja seemed game for the set-up. Well, uuuhhh… as evidenced by the previews – and by Sonja’s most recent Bravo blog; things have changed. And now Sonja is not so keen on Aviva‘s attempt to play matchmaker. Or Aviva in general!

She begins: “Firstly, that Aviva will even admit her dad is a sex addict (maybe she is using the wrong word?), and secondly that she is comfortable introducing a brand new girlfriend to her father! This is a loaded situation that raises many questions of authenticity.”
And Sonja not so subtly comments that she’s not interested in any long-term commitments where Aviva‘s matchmaking skills are concerned.
“I’m not new around town and best friends with her ex-Harry, so I guess she knows I’m OK. However, a classic sex addict like the one portrayed by David Duchovny has a problem with fidelity. Being an artistic, sensual person who enjoys a life of good food, wine, love, exercise, sex and culture, all the sights, smells, and touch that goes with this doesn’t mean I don’t want commitment and respect from family and friends.”
Sonja also takes issue with Aviva stirring the pot where Ramona and the Wine Olympics are concerned! “I didn’t find the wine thing such a big set up? Did you? Of course Ramona would guess the notes. But what was the set up? Am I missing something? Is Aviva stirring the pot?”
Insinuating that while Aviva‘s father may be a sex addict, Aviva probably has the opposite problem. Ouch! “Ramona and Mario are the opposite of Reid and Aviva. Completely. Hmmm. Wonder who has the better sex life?”
Well, I personally don’t think Sonja‘s “insults” were so bad – snippy yes, pointed – yes, but hateful and mean ala Jill Zarin? Not really. Aviva seems to disagree. When a fan directed Aviva to Sonja’s blog, she responded:
