Guess what guys? Brooks Ayers is not a deadbeat dad. I repeat, Brooks Ayers is not a deadbeat dad. The love tank filler of Real Housewives of Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson wants to clear up some things for us.
If you recall, 20/20 did a report on Brooks where they claimed that he wasn't paying anything for his son with ex-girlfriend Nicolette Catanzarite and hadn't visited his son since he was 5 or 6 months old. Furthermore, Nicolette claimed that she had no clue of Brooks' whereabouts until he showed up on RHOC! Well, now the news program is setting the record straight thanks to ol' Brooks.

Now 20/20 is clarifying some of its information. It turns out that Brooks' insurance did cover most (not all) of his son's medical expenses at birth in December of 2009, although it didn't pay for Nicolette's bills. Brooks also wants to let it be known that he did provide Nicolette with money for rent and other things for his son after he was born.
Additionally, Brooks last saw his son when he was 19 or 20 months old and had contact with Nicolette intermittently since that time. Furthermore, Nicolette came to California this year where she met Vicki with Brooks. He tells ABC that he "hopes to resolve his disputes with Nicolette soon."
Thanks for clearing that up, Brooks ABC! Let's now check in with the original deadbeat dad, Slade Smiley. However, now I'm not going to snark because it truly is a tragic situation. His son Grayson is going through yet another surgery, and Gretchen Rossi is asking fans for prayers. On Sunday she posted on her Facebook fan page, "Having a real tough day today. Flew out to New York to be with @sladesmiley because Grayson is going in for another major brain surgery on Tuesday, so I was already a mess, but now I just found out my uncle who has been sick is not going to make it and hospice is coming to his house. I can't be in two places at once and my heart is simply breaking tonight. A lot of you ask if I ever get sad or am down and this is defiantly one of those days. Please pray for Grayson and for my family at this tough time. Give those you love tonight extra hugs and kisses."
Yesterday her status was updated to read, "Grayson has been in surgery since 9am this morning (it's 2:30 NY time now) it took 3 hours just to get to his brain, having to cut through the bone/skull and the dura layer. Now comes the scary part, de-bulking the tumor. Thank you for all your prayers, messages and kind words, Means so very much to us. I'm here with Slade in the hospital just waiting for them to let us know the results and how Gray is doing."
Last night, Gretchen wrote, "Can't say too much right now, but that we sincerely need your prayers at this time. The response from everyone has been overwhelming so thank you very much for all your messages and posts."
It is truly heartbreaking to hear that so much is going on with Grayson. He will continue to be in my prayers, and I hope all of our RT readers send him and his family their most positive thoughts and well wishes!
