Todd Tucker has always had his reservations about reality TV but he's never had reservations about his now-wife Kandi Burruss!

Todd kept his composure in difficult situations behind the scenes on Real Housewives of Atlanta and in a twist of fate, in front of the camera this season! And none has been more trying than dealing with the formidable Mama Joyce! Despite all the drama leading up to his wedding, Todd could not be more in love with Kandi although he admits filming the whole thing for reality TV was trying.

Todd compares his journey with Kandi to "like a heavy weight fighter who fought ten rounds and then he had to go fight ten more! It was a tough journey, and it takes you back to past relationships when the woman says, 'you didn’t fight for me.'" Still he describes being married as "amazing". He adds, "I now understand what that means now, because I fought with all of my energy for this relationship,” he tells BuzzFeed.

Undoubtedly the most trying aspects of his relationship were dealing with Mama Joyce (duh!). "During filming, I wasn’t sure that we were going to make it," Todd confesses. "There were times when I felt like I couldn’t do this anymore.”

“It’s a lot of drama…trying to get the wedding off the ground…we also didn’t have a wedding planner, so that limited us to a certain degree," Todd admits. "Viewers will get to see my mother and Mama Joyce face-to-face for the first time, which definitely got heated. It’s drama, but it was real life stuff that we were dealing with at the moment.”

Todd says his own mother's advice was instrumental in keeping him sane through the process. "Be respectful as well as being patient," Todd advises. "You have to see the bigger goal…I knew that at the end of the day, all that mattered was our happiness.”

"My mother wasn’t also concerned about the antics of Mama Joyce," Todd adds. "My mother also had a lot of patience, and I think that is one of the reasons why Kandi and I made it, because my mother made it easy for us to navigate through this.” Although he admits that Mama Joyce did press his mother who he says "kept her composure" through the incidents. In a preview for the show Mama Joyce is seen leaping across the table at Todd's mom.

Todd says his relationship with Kandi's daughter Riley has also grown tremendously. "She has even taken up for me against Mama Joyce. It is working out really well.”

As for all the insults and accusations leveled against him by Mama Joyce, Todd insists they no longer bother him mainly because they are not true. "I am definitely not an opportunist…I didn’t enter this relationship expecting or wanting anything from Kandi," Todd explains. "I was already in TV production when she and I first met, and I continue to do my thing. I am currently producing a show in L.A. which I did on my own, without any help from Kandi. When people say that, I think they are dealing with what is inside of them. It gets annoying, because why can’t I just love Kandi for her and not her money?” Awwww…

And Todd is fine with their income differences so long as both of them are both happy, working, and contributing to building their lives together. "For me it’s not intimidating…I know who I am and what I bring to the table, and no matter how powerful a female is, they always need a male counterpart to balance them.”

All of the RHOA wives were invited to Kandi's wedding, as were the Husbands. Peter Thomas planned Todd's bachelor party. "We all get along, and that’s good to have with them," Todd says.

Finally Todd shares his favorite wedding moment, "Kandi’s big smile!" he gushes. "It was such a great moment to see her so happy that she couldn’t even control it."

Congratulations Kandi and Todd! I for one adore Todd and I am so happy for Kandi that she found someone who loves, appreciates, and supports her. I wish them the best of luck in their future.
