Nick started out with ordinary Tom Ford loafers, but then Jason Arasheben, of Jason of Beverly Hills jewelers, custom-added 14,000 full-cut round white diamonds set onto white gold. The shoes contain a total weight of 340 carats and are currently being reviewed by the Guinness Book Of World Records for the title of World’s Most Valuable Shoes. I suppose Nick is really living it up after his separation from Mariah Carey!
PHOTOS FROM AGT’S FINALE ARE BELOW! PLUS, SPOILER ALERT!
“When Nick approached me last year, he said he wanted to make history and be so over-the-top,” Jason revealed. “He wanted to set a new standard in diamonds. ‘How can we make the most expensive pair of shoes in the world and make this finale special?’ he asked me.” #RichPeopleProblems #TooMuchMoneyToSpendProblems
According to WWD, the shoes took more than 2,000 to hand-craft. “It took four months alone to source all of the diamonds and create them the same size to make the shoe,” Jason explained. And 7 pairs of Tom Ford loafers were ruined the construction process.
As for the longevity of such intricate footwear, Jason believes they have a higher degree of wear-ability than you might expect! “It’s still a piece of jewelry. As long as he’s not too overly aggressive in the shoes, everything should be all right.”
Well, truly magical footwear! And speaking of magic, magician Mat Franco was crowned the winner of AGT! Mat beat out singer Emily West to take take home a $1 million dollar price (or 1 of Nick’s loafers) and a headlining show in Vegas. Mat called the win “Un-freaking-believable,” reports Access Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Emily was nothing buy gracious about her second place finish. “This has been the most unbelievable experience,” she gushed. “Thank you, ‘AGT,’ thank you Mat Franco for winning and taking on the world. I’m very honored, and thank you so much for having me on your beautiful show. It changed my life.”
Congratulations Mat. And ummmm… nice way to waste money Nick! Photos from the finale are below!
