This week on Manzo’d With Children we saw something very rare — one of the Manzo children made a major decision without consulting mama Caroline Manzo. Normally, you would think — “Well, it’s about time, these kids are adults!”
But the problem this time was not that Lauren Manzo did not consult her mother before she made major renovations to her business — including construction and a name change. The problem was that she did not consult her business partner and investor, who just also happens to be her mother.

“What do you think of Lauren expanding Cafface and changing the name without telling me? I’m proud and annoyed at the same time. Proud because she took the initiative and annoyed that there was no solid plan. Luckily, things worked out and business is good. I suppose I should just leave it at that, but believe me when I tell you, next time she has a brainstorm, it will be followed by a well-thought-out plan. Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
I actually thought Caroline handled it really well, considering Lauren was basically changing the business concept. She definitely handled it better than Christopher Manzo, who could not stop giggling like a school girl every time Lauren explained that they were going to offer blowouts.
As for her decision to change the name and services offered, Lauren says, “I realized since opening that we make most of our money on our services and not so much on retail. I wanted to add another quick service at the store to make it more convenient for someone who is going out and needs us to get them ready.”
And what about changing the name of her business from Cafface to Full Blown? “There’s a long story behind that. It was a mixture of my mom and Aunt Fran. (Who came up with the name) I hated it from the beginning, but we couldn’t find anything else that wasn’t taken! We are still in the process of legally changing the name to Full Blown.”
Lauren says business is booming, which is sure to make Mama Manzo very happy. Now, if Albie would just bring another girl around….
