It’s very rare that I think a reality star makes a decision that’s not rooted in becoming more famous. Maturity seems sparse among them, and if you’d asked five years ago if I considered any of the Jersey Shore folks to be “mature” I would have laughed in your face after screaming “GTL, beeatches!”
My, how times have changed. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley became household names as they drunkenly face planted in the sand and fist pumped in the sluttiest of Shore Store apparel. Of course, over time, both girls fell in love and started families with the orangest of gorilla juiceheads. We got to see the progression on later seasons of Jersey Shore and on their tamer spin-off Snooki & JWoww. However, now the best friends are committed to raising their families off of MTV. Wait, what? Reality stars rejecting reality television? I can’t even.

This Wednesday will be the final episode of Snooki & J-Woww, and we’ll get to see Snooki and Jionni’s Gatsby themed nuptials and the christening of Jenni and Roger’s daughter. That’s a far cry from partying on an astroturf covered roof and luring strangers into the smush room.
On her blog, Jenni explains, The end of Snooki and JWoww is near! As women, it’s all about our kids. We don’t care about getting our hair or makeup done. We’re basically stay-at-home moms. The Snooki and JWoww series finale airs next Wednesday where you will see Snooki and Jionni get married and our baby Meilani get christened,” adding, “It’s the end of a big chapter of our lives and it’s bittersweet.”
Jenni concludes, “I think both Snooki and I want our kids to grow up having normal lives and not be in front of the cameras 24/7. We did it as adults so we had a choice, it’s time we let them have that choice to. Just because we won’t be on your TV screens anymore doesn’t mean you won’t be hearing our honest and dirty rambles! You just have to stay tuned to see where we’ll be next! Can’t wait for the next chapter in our lives! XOXO”
I definitely respect their decision, but I’m going to miss those crazy ladies!
