Southern Charm’s Cameran Eubanks Dishes On Her New Husband’s Absence This Season

Southern Charm has returned, the weather is warm, it’s Friday. I’d say all is right with the world, wouldn’t you? Last week, the cast of my guiltiest pleasure made their way past the Mason-Dixon line to celebrate the second season’s premiere in the Big Apple. On hand to celebrate was everyone’s favorite politician turned felon turned lovable lush Lotharia turned new dad Thomas Ravenel. Joining him were co-stars Shepard “Shep” Rose and Whitney Sudler-Smith, along with newlywed Cameran Eubanks.

The southern socialites mingled with fans to toast the show’s sophomore season with–what else?–mint juleps while noshing on gourmet grits and ham. No warm white wine, mason jars, or sweltering swamp humidity for this fete! As usual, Cameran was hanging out as one of the guys. Cameran is the Taco Bell-loving unattainable (for these guys, at least!) beauty who doles out tough love and one-liners like it’s her job (which I guess it kind of is). Of course, now she’s unattainable in a whole new way. She’s no longer just out of these playboys’ league, Cameran’s a married woman. So, will we get to meet her new husband over the course of this season?

The short answer? No. I’m sure we’ll be privy to more phone conversations as she jets around the peninsula, but Cameran is very serious about keeping her private life private (Bravo cameras excluded).  Bravo’s The Daily Dish highlights one of Cameran’s recent interviews where she addresses her husband’s absence.

Many of you will remember first meeting Cameran over ten years ago on MTV’s Real World: San Diego. She recalls that cameras filmed them around the clock, and it made her very aware of how important it is to keep some things for herself. She explains, “With Southern Charm, I’ve actually tried to be very careful to not have my personal life be included. I’m married now—my husband and I got engaged after Season 1 wrapped.”

If you think about it, it’s totally working for her. Cameran is the only cast member who has never been linked to any kind of drama, which makes her the perfect pick to narrate the show. She continues, “I’ve purposefully chosen to keep that out of the picture because I think people who put their personal life on TV are kind of nuts. Nine times out of 10 it doesn’t end up working out.”

However, just because he’s out of site, doesn’t mean he isn’t supportive of having his wife in the spotlight. Cameran reveals, “He loves it! He’s totally supportive and loves the show, he thinks it’s great,” adding, “But he has a pretty serious career going [as a doctor], so I don’t blame him for wanting to stay out of the realm of reality television.”

On this week’s episode, Cameran was very vocal about her pregnancy plans at the second christening–she’s in no rush. Cameran shares, “That’s obviously something you think of once you get married. He’s more ready than I am. I am definitely not pregnant now, I can tell you that. [I have] no real desire anytime soon.”

Cameran reveals, “I’m waiting for that feeling to kick in, when you feel the urge to. It just hasn’t kicked in—and it might not ever, you never know. Before we got engaged, I sat down with him and said, ‘I have no desire to have a child right now, there might be a big possibility I might never want to have a child, I just want to make sure you’re not going to leave me if I don’t give you a kid.’ And he told me he would not, so let’s hope he sticks to that!”

I’m sure that if/when Cameran decides to start a family, her child will only have one Christening…and it will be indoors!
