Craig Conover has grown quite a lot since the early days of Southern Charm. His lies about law school put his cat Gizmo right in the middle of his toxic relationship with Naomie Olindo. After their split, Craig leaned into his sewing game heavily. Now he’s got his own pillow company and brick-and-mortar store. He also finally opened his own law firm to prove to his naysayers that he really was getting around to finishing law school. Just, at his own pace which definitely wasn’t fast enough for a go-getter like Naomie.
Even his feud with Austen Kroll’s ex Madison LeCroy cooled down a bit. Well, after Craig exposed Madison for her FaceTime dates with Alex Rodriguez that may or may not be responsible for the reunion of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Needless to say, there have been plenty of surprises throughout the seven seasons of the show. The only thing that remains the same these days is Patricia Altschul’s afternoon martini habit.
Craig finally seems to be on the up-and-up after suffering a bit from Peter Pan syndrome. But that seems to be part of the deal when you’re friends with Shep Rose. Now that Shep has grown up a bit, totally credited to his girlfriend Taylor Ann Green, Craig has too. He’s got a podcast with Austen among his new business endeavors and the two will be making an appearance in the Summer House/Southern Charm spinoff, Summer House Winter Charm (that NAME). Craigy’s been living the single life, hanging out with Paige DeSorbo and begging Kristin Cavallari to appear on Southern Charm. And I have to root for him – he can be immature at times but seems to have a good heart. And I only want good things to come for Craig and his pillows.
One of the most underrated characters throughout all seven seasons of Southern Charm is Patricia Altschul’s partner-in-crime, Michael the Butler. Michael and Patricia are the epitome of class and old wealth in Charleston. Michael is always around to photograph Patricia in her dog-covered caftans and make her the perfect martini afterward. He’s seen plenty of characters come and go from Southern Charm, and through Patricia’s mansion, which means you could only imagine the secrets he’s harboring. And he’s more than just an employee — he’s really a part of Patricia and Whitney Sudler-Smith’s little family. Including their sophisticated pups.
Southern Charm fans were heartbroken to hear when Michael Kelcourse suffered a spinal cord stroke at the beginning of this year. Patricia shared a website with updates on his recovery, which she has said is “progressing rapidly” since the stroke. Michael has since been moved into an assisted living facility for rehabilitation. And it looks like Patricia and Whitney have been by his side to wait on him hand and foot for a change.

How many times a day do you find yourself wondering whatever became of former Southern Charm star Landon Clements? If your answer is, “zero”, you are 100% in compliance with the rest of the United States population. Landon is gone and pretty much forgotten, but it looks like she’s trying to get someone’s attention.
Like other cast members who
were fired left the series, Landon continues to comment publicly on the show. And sometimes it bites her in the ass. When Thomas Ravenel famously went through some serious allegations relating to his children’s nanny, most people doubted Thomas’ claims of innocense. But Landon isn’t most people and she counted herself as one of Thomas’ defenders. Recently Landon claimed after she sided with T-Rav, Patricia Altschul dumped her on Instagram. I guess it’s easier to say you were dumped for defending an outcast than realizing you were possibly dumped for being a bore.
Southern Charm OG Craig Conover has really been on the up and up throughout the past year or so. He and Naomie Olindo broke up and while he was heartbroken, it was time for the toxicity between them to stop. He FINALLY passed the bar exam and opened his own law firm. And his pillow business, which started as a sewing hobby, blew up with online sales, tours and more.
Craigy finally seems to be getting his act together. And while it took him a while, it’s nice to see him turn his passion for sewing into a career. He’s come a long way from sewing homemade gifts for Cameran Eubanks’ baby to appearing on HSN and selling out his pillows online. He even has a podcast with Austen Kroll called “Pillows And Beer” based on their businesses.
Who would have thought that the drama from Madison LeCroy sphere of influence would reverb far beyond the reaches of Southern Charm. That Austen Kroll wouldn’t be the only one affected by her siren song. In the spirit of nautical tales, it never ends well to follow that tune.
Clearly, Madison has further ambitions. That became very clear during the Season 7 reunion, when she revealed her latest target. And now that the full effect of Madison’s “friendship” with A-Rod is front page celebrity news, Cameran Eubanks wanted to share her thoughts about Austen and Madison.
While the coronavirus pandemic took away international travel and late-nights of clubbing for Bravolebrities, they apparently all decided it was a good idea to write a book. Shep Rose and Cameran Eubanks of Southern Charm each wrote books on subjects that couldn’t be more opposite of each other. Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Margaret Josephs is also gearing up to release a memoir, and Jackie Goldschneider says she’s working on her own. Even Lala Kent, who was part of the very real Vanderpump Rules pregnancy pact, wrote a memoir herself.
The list goes on and on, but the only person we sadly won’t be getting a book from this year is Kim Richards, even though she gets to keep a hefty advance from her publisher. And since Dorinda Medley’s firing from the Real Housewives of New York, she’s going to teach us all about making it nice in her own words.
Shep Rose has been a mainstay on Southern Charm since the beginning. He’s a womanizer, a party animal, and a bit of a late bloomer.
And now Shep can add author to the list, as he just released his book Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar, about his life, relationships, and his time on the show. I haven’t gotten my hands on a copy yet. However, I’m not exactly dying for life advice from a 40-year-old frat boy who has family money. But at least he knows what it takes to make good TV, unlike Landon Clements.
