Dancing With The Stars Hometown Glory: Kim Zolciak And Tamar Braxton Celebrate Their Hometowns

Dancing with the Stars

It’s week two for Kim Zolciak and Tamar Braxton on Dancing with the Stars.

About last week’s abysmal start, Kim says, “It was all kind of a blur – the scores and what they [the judges] said. I am really disappointed in myself because I obviously can do much better. But I mean where can you go from here but up?”

Kim focuses on Atlanta for “Hometown Glory” week.

“I grew up in Connecticut,” explains Kim, “but I have been here in Atlanta for 16 years. Atlanta’s where Big Poppa all my dreams came true. I met my amazing husband here. And I have had five of my children – out of six – here in Atlanta.”

In rehearsal, constant interruptions from Kim‘s kids (well whoever is taking care of her kids) frustrates Tony Dovolani. As Kim stops to check her phone for the umpteenth time, Tony pleads, “Can you please tell them that you’re in rehearsal cause we gotta get this done.”

Kim admits, “Having six children and trying to juggle them and dance rehearsal is a struggle right now. I’m a frazzled mess.”

Tony and Kim dance the Quickstep this week. It’s a huge improvement.

Comments

Carrie Ann Inaba excites easily. She’s all, Pow! Pow!, but she manages to stay in her chair for once. Carrie Ann adds, “You showed us you’re in the game.”

Julianne Hough asks Kim, “How did that feel for you?” Kim says she loves the Quickstep, then she complains about last week’s Salsa again.

Julianne tells Tony to push Kim, adding, “That was just scratching the surface of what she has to offer and what she’s capable of.”

Bruno Tonliono exclaims, “She’s alive!! She’s alive!! It is the most unexpected comeback since Lazarus!!”

Because it’s been a minute since Kim whined about the Salsa… “Salsa is very sexy, and I don’t know Tony that well,” she says. “The Quickstep, I’m obsessed. I absolutely loved it.”

NeNe Leakes Hopes She Was Inspiring On Dancing With The Stars

Tamar takes issue with the hip thrusts in a dance that she has dedicated to her family, “I don’t want to thrust when I’m thinking about my family. Just, no.”

Val Chmerkovskiy laments, “Cha Cha is going to be very difficult for Tamar. We are doing a lot of body rolls and booty popping.” Um, if Tamar doesn’t want to roll and pop with Val, I volunteer as tribute.

Despite her reservations, Tamar delivers another fantastic performance.

Comments

Julianne says Tamar dances better on her own than she does with Val. “When you dance on your own, there’s something so magical and so special, and you can’t teach that,” she says. “Unfortunately, when you guys get together, I almost feel like you lose that energy a little bit. But I loved it more than anything.”

Bruno describes the dance as luminous and luscious. His next line is bleeped. Tamar‘s eyes widen. Bruno says, “You got the idea.” Tamar quips, “I sure did.”

Carrie Ann agrees with Julianne. “You’re in a class of your own,” she says. “When you came out there and you did the stuff alone, you are a show stopper. But, when you’re in hold with Val, your eyes go a little blank. You’re a really great performer with your eyes, so make sure that you stay Tamar when you’re in hold.”

Random Thoughts

I continue to despise Allison‘s frantic dancing. Poor Andy. Also, poor Keo, who has been eliminated first, second, and first in three seasons. I knew there was a nine in Derek‘s future when Alexa, Carlos, and Tamar got all eights. Let’s just pretend Derek and Bindi didn’t break hold in the middle of their Tango, because the rules don’t apply to Golden Boy. I adore Anna. I miss Len. A lot.

Once again, ABC Media posted photos of everyone’s performance… but Kim‘s. I will continue to check. I have wondered, however, if the Don’t Be Tardy star is so obsessed with her appearance that she worked a ‘no photos’ clause into her contract. Thankfully, our photo agencies have some pictures for us. 😉

The remaining 12 couples dance and face elimination again tonight.
