Little Women: Atlanta Garners Huge Ratings for Lifetime

Who knew that little people having arguments about welfare checks, baby daddies, and twerking would attract so many viewers? Lifetime’s latest installment in their Little Women franchise,  Little Women: Atlanta, raked in 1.3 million viewers during its premiere episode Wednesday night!

The new series, which follows Little Women: LA (now in its fourth season) in its Wednesday time slot, showcases six new little women living in the Atlanta area. But their geographic location isn’t the only difference between this cast and LA (or Little Women: New York, for that matter).

Also garnering 1.3 million viewers for its season 4 premiere, LWLA saw the comeback of seasoned veterans and one of last year’s newbies to its cast. The group, mostly made up of 30-something women who are wives, mothers, and entertainers, is not without its high drama as an argument already ensued among the entire group during its premiere episode!

Atlanta’s cast seemed to light virtual firecrackers right out of the gate with its viscous in-fighting, dramatic pregnancy news, and of course, butt-shaking contest. Indeed the cast, already divided among their loyalties, barely introduced themselves to viewers before they were at each other’s throats.

LWLA’s Tonya Banks provided the “crossover” link from LA to Atlanta, appearing in episode one as “Ms. Juicy’s” friend and horrified witness to a low rent twerking contest. Whether Tonya – or any of the LWLA cast – will join the ladies in future Atlanta episodes is unknown.
