Mob Wives’ Big Ang To Be Celebrated This Weekend By Family And Friends

The realization that Mob Wives’ most beloved star Big Ang Raiola has passed away from cancer still hasn’t really hit me yet. While she prided herself on her larger than life, surgically enhanced features, I think we can all agree, they paled in size compared to her giant, compassionate heart and her friendly, genuine smile. The world is a little smaller without her in it, but I am grateful she shared her vibrant personality with all of us who watched the show.

Big Ang was the only reason to watch Mob Wives. As her co-stars brawl and partake in scripted drama, we could count on Ang to share no nonsense advice and sometimes humorously stirring the pot. While the current season features Ang’s second battle with cancer, here’s hoping her co-stars truly learn that there are much, MUCH more important things in life than holding grudges…if only to honor their true, sweet friend.

According to Page Six, Ang’s life will be remembered in a big way this weekend before her burial. A source close to the family shares that a celebration of Ang will take place today and tomorrow at Brooklyn’s Scarpaci Funeral Home.

As much as I hate that it takes such a tragedy to bring the cast together, Ang’s Mob Wives cast mates are coming together and calling a truce as they mourn the loss of their friend. An insider reveals that Drita D’avanzo was with Ang when she died, stating, “Drita was at the hospital along with Ang’s family as she passed. Everyone will drop their differences to remember Big Ang.”

It won’t shock fans to learn that Ang wanted to go out in a very big fashion…with a disco party in Brooklyn. TMZ is reporting that Ang’s final wish was to have her send off as her nearest and dearest partied at local discotheque Pastels. Unfortunately, Pastels has been closed for a while, and there is no word on whether her family will look into celebrating Ang’s amazing life at a similar venue.

Whatever you practice, please send prayers and positive energy to all who have a hole in their heart due to Ang’s death. Cancer sucks so badly, and my thoughts go out to her family. Ang will be remembered for the beautiful soul she was.
