If Gizelle Bryant wasn’t a cast member of Real Housewives Of Potomac, the ladies might see a little sunlight now and then. Because this chick is here to throw shade all day, every day. In Gizelle’s mind, however, she sees herself as a truth teller, not a sh*t stirrer. Case in point: She was just asking an innocent question of newbie Monique Samuels when she insinuated that Monique was homeless. At least, that is what Gizelle claims. And in case you did not hear – she is still the word on the street!
Before defending her shady ways, Gizelle ironically takes a moment in her blog this week to trash Katie Rost’s Casino Royale charity soiree. (Which – let’s be real – was among the top five sorriest excuses for a Housewives event to EVER grace our screens.) Gizelle has been out of touch with Katie for a while, but writes, “I wish her all the best of luck, especially when it comes to her planning another event. Based off of Casino Royale, she’s going to need a four-leaf clover and a horseshoe.”

Gizelle goes on to snark, “It wasn’t that the singers were horrible. That wasn’t the problem. It’s just that they had NO IDEA that they were horrible. Did they know that they were singing to adults, or did they think they were singing at a Saturday morning PBS cartoon special?”
Katie, who filmed only a handful of initial scenes for RHOP before quitting this season (at least, this is the case according to Robyn Dixon’s twitter feed), claimed to be a “ball and gala” girl last season who lived for high roller events. So when she pulled off what appeared to be a third rate prom for her first big event, her street cred took an obvious hit.
Moving on to her dating life, Gizelle gushes about Kevin, her man of the moment. “Kevin is coming to this date right and ready. He knows how to wine and dine a lady. Such a gentleman. I love that with Kevin there is no pressure, no timeframe. We are getting to know each other in a romantic way and seeing if there’s a strong connection to form a fire, spark or a fizzle. I don’t think there’s going to be a fizzle but my clothes will stay securely on until I know one way or another.”
But friendships aren’t going so well for Gizelle – old and new.
As for grilling Monique upon meeting her, Gizelle maintains that she’s innocent. She explains in her blog that “Monique said she was looking for a home. Me asking, ‘So you don’t have a home?’ was not shade. It’s the next natural question after someone says they are looking for a home. I have no idea why everyone jumps to the conclusion that I’m being shady. ME?! I’ve always wanted to see a hip hop version of Star Wars on Broadway. Nicki Minaj better watch out and back up because there’s stiff competition for Princess Leia. Clearly, Monique has it in the bag.”

I’ll pause here to confess the following: I love Gizelle on RHOP, but could never deal with her in real life. (And isn’t that often the case with the most prominent reality characters on any ensemble cast?) In many ways, she is the show – largely because of her spiteful jabs and sharp one liners. But Gizelle is cracked in the head if she thinks she’s gonna convince people that she’s not shady as hell. Why not just simply own her brand and run with it?
On her rocky relationship with Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Gizelle admits she’s basically over it. “The Charrisse/Gizelle saga had far past its expiration date. It was starting to smell like bordem. I have no problems apologizing if I know that the other person is ready to receive it. Poor Monica Lewinsky, just when she thinks it’s safe to walk to her corner store and buy a pack of gum, someone wants to unfairly drag her good name through the mud.”
Lastly, Gizelle breaks down her thoughts on her bestie, Robyn, talking with Karen Huger “behind her back.” Bottom line: Karen is trying to start a fire without a match.
Gizelle summarizes, “Robyn and I spoke in depth about how she feels I went way too far with Charrisse. Robyn is entitled to her own opinion and I will always respect it. However, I was shocked to hear that she spoke to Karen of all people, because we all know that Karen lives on a street called Messy Boulevard. If Karen has information to start a little drama, she wakes up early in the morning to plot and plan. Now I do know that when Karen is talking you should only pay attention to about half the things you hear because Karen loves to add hot sauce to any story. Her embellishments are BIGLY or Big League, take your pick.”
