Lydia McLaughlin Says Meghan Edmonds Needs To Take Responsibility For Her Part In The Drama With Kelly Dodd

Someone had to call Meghan Edmonds out on her hypocrisy and messiness on The Real Housewives Of Orange County. And this week, little rainbows-and-butterflies Lydia McLaughlin stepped right up to the plate! On their hike together, Lydia pointed out that Meghan is no innocent victim when it comes to her drama with Kelly Dodd – but Meghan sure doesn’t see it that way.

Lydia explains why she felt the need to speak up: “I want to start off by saying I really like Meghan. I enjoy her friendship and she is always sweet to me. When we went on the hike, I felt like she was going on and on about Kelly, yet she wasn’t taking any responsibility for her part. Meghan was the one that accused Kelly of an affair FIRST. Then, once they had made up, months later, Meghan goes and tells Vicki [Gunvalson] about the fight. Kelly definitely attacked Meghan, but I didn’t feel comfortable walking with Meghan without saying that she had a part in it as well.”

While some of us were appreciative of Lydia’s straight talk, Meghan was certainly not! Lydia says she was shocked at Meghan’s pathetic attempt to cry overreaction as well. “I feel like Meghan overreacted and didn’t let me explain myself, and when I even tell her I’m scared to tell her what I meant, she cuts me off and cusses at me saying she doesn’t give an F. Yikes.”

When it came to her feelings about drag queen bingo, Lydia has a little more explaining to do. Her constant “discomfort” is wearing mighty thin, to say the least.

She defends, “I want to be very clear that drag queens don’t make me feel uncomfortable. I went into the evening knowing it was a drag queen event and although I didn’t know what to expect, I happily agreed to go and was trying to support a new friend. Some of my closest friends, coworkers, and family members are part of the LGBT community and I love them to death. Quite frankly, I am frustrated I have to even qualify that. I was uncomfortable because I didn’t know I would be dressed up as a man, where no one else in the bar was dressed up. I didn’t like all the sexual jokes, the psychic readings, and then once the fighting began with the woman about their marriages, I was over it. I like to lift people up and have fun, and I wasn’t into the all the fighting.”

Maybe Lydia was just uncomfortable because she was dressed up as THE MOST ABSURD drag king to ever walk the planet? I don’t know if I’d be chill sitting there looking like a psychotic Charlie Chaplin marionette doll while everyone else is sporting mullets and pleather vests either…? Just a thought!

But Lydia claims total innocence when it comes to the absolute mess that went down at Vicki’s birthday party. She was nowhere near the conversation that busted out among ghosts of housewives past, Tamra Judge’s old “friend” Ricky, Vicki, and Kelly. She comments, “I had no idea they were all talking about Eddie and Tamra. Vicki told me she missed Tamra and that was all I knew. Watching Ricki say those accusations about Eddie is hard to watch. I love Eddie and Tamra and from my experiences with them, they are a solid couple. I don’t believe these rumors about Eddie and this is very hurtful. He is Tamra’s husband and an amazing man.”

Finally, Lyda defends herself for choosing Vicki’s party over Shannon Beador’s by explaining that the times changed and Shannon’s (earlier) party conflicted with her son’s. Then she brings her blog full circle back to Meghan by throwing in one final dig! Lydia snarks, “Notice how when Peggy [Sulahian] didn’t agree with me, I listened to her point of view and moved on because that’s what friends do. (Hint hint Meghan).”
