Is it a coincidence that Robyn Dixon and Monique Samuels planned events for the same night so soon after their scuffle at Karen Huger’s scent event? Maybe. Most likely not, but maybe. So of course, Robyn and Monique are taking their costars RSVP’s very personally. It’s not just choosing an event. It is choosing Monique over Robyn and vice versa.
Even though Monique joined Real Housewives of Potomac as a friend of Charrisse Jackson-Jordan’s, Robyn has been friend with Charrisse for 14 years. Needless to say, it did not sit well with Robyn when Charrisse said she was going to Monique’s event over Robyn’s.
Robyn reflected on the dueling events in a Bravo blog post. Robyn joked, “Isn’t it funny how things happen? Just the week before Monique and I are having a showdown on a sidewalk in DC and the next week we are testing everyone’s friendship and loyalty with conflicting events. It’s so coincidental, I wouldn’t have been able to script that myself.”
Robyn wrote, “I understand Charrisse had already agreed to escort Monique to that event before I invited her to attend my event, however, there are certain things that good friends make exceptions for and should change plans for and a first meaningful event conceived, planned and organized by a good friend should be one of them.” If only Robyn and Monique actually communicated with each other. They could have avoided this whole situation.
Robyn admitted, “Charrisse’s decision to stick with Monique’s event surely hurt and stung and made me question the strength of our friendship. Sure, Charrisse and Monique became fast friends and spend a lot of time together but there should be some type of value placed on a long-standing 14-year friendship and clearly, Charrisse does not value our friendship the same way that I do.” Does missing one event really say that much?
Karen initially said she would go to Robyn’s event, but backtracked and blamed her RSVP on a Siri miscommunication. Robyn wasn’t buying that excuse. She wrote, “Karen is a liar, plain and simple. We all heard her say it herself at Gizelle Bryant’s party, she told me ‘yes’ she would attend my event. I don’t understand her need to lie about something that simple. All she had to say was that she changed her mind and would rather escort Monique to her event. I would have been able to respect that. But what I can’t respect is a liar. I have a very hard time being phony and giving Karen a hug at that moment would have been extremely phony.”
Tonight is an all new episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. “Having one extra ticket to her gala, Monique decides to invite an unlikely guest to sit at her table. Baby talk puts another roadblock in Ashley and Michael’s relationship, while the pressure of finding a wedding venue creates tension between Candiace and Chris. Upset that Karen chose to not come to Robyn’s event, Gizelle and Robyn decide to confront her, but are caught off guard by her shocking response.”
