The Bachelor Peter Weber

Peter Weber Opted Out of Bachelor in Paradise Offer Over Contract Dispute

Peter Weber was “almost [in] Paradise” this summer. Show producers were “knockin’ at his door” to join the cast of Bachelor in Paradise, but unable to reach a contract agreement, Pilot Pete ultimately decided to pass on the free trip to Mexico.

“I was actually going to do Bachelor in Paradise. I was going to do it,” the Season 24 Bachelor said, as reported in E! News. “We just couldn’t agree on a contract at the end of the day is what it came down to.”

According to the reality TV star, he was all but set to appear on the show’s 8th season, but things fell through when he couldn’t come to an agreement on his contract.

“I had gotten the days off. I had this month off to go out there and I was going to give it a shot. I honestly was,” Peter said. “I always kept looking at that as, like, the one venue I hadn’t, like, really checked off yet or tried.”

Still hoping to find his co-pilot in love, Peter said that at first he thought he might have been able to find a partner on the sands of Sayulita. “I thought maybe [I could] give it one more try,” he explained. “But [ABC and I] ended up not being able to agree on anything and get out there. I feel everything happens for a reason, so it’s all good.”

As for whether or not Peter planned on giving (yet another) rose to a  someone special, the pilot admitted that he had his eye on one lady in particular.

“There was someone. I’m not going to spill those names, but there was someone down there,” Peter admitted. “That was the only reason that I was actually curious [about] going down there.”

Although he did not name names, he did hint that the person he was interested in was a contestant from Clayton Echard‘s season of The Bachelor. Any guesses?

Bachelor Nation first met Peter in 2019, when he was one of the final two contestants on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette. He pretty quickly bounced back from Hannah’s rejection to take on the lead role on The Bachelor.

He ended the season engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss (his mom Barb’s preference), but the pair went their separate ways when Peter admitted he still had feelings for his runner-up, Madison Prewett, who had self-eliminated in the finale, possibly because Peter’s mother Barb despised her.

After his time on The Bachelor, Peter went on to date another woman from his season, attorney Kelley Flanagan (who Barb adored). The pair had an on and off relationship before finally separating for good in February 2021.

Even though I really would have liked to have seen Pilot Pete in Paradise, the way he bounces from one relationship to another seems to indicate that he’s not really ready to settle down with one woman. Maybe he could have brought Barb to Mexico with him to help him with his choice. Now there’s some stunt casting for you: “Pilot Pete and Barb Go to Paradise.” Even better than bringing in identical twins!

TELL US – ARE YOU DISAPPOINTED THAT PETER WASN’T ABLE TO COME TO AGREEMENT ON HIS BIP CONTRACT? ANY GUESSES AS TO WHICH WOMAN FROM CLAYTON ECHARD’S SEASON PETE HAD HIS EYE ON? WHO DO YOU THINK PETER SHOULD DATE NEXT?
